*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

Cheers for the advice about riot shields and air support! Works pretty well when i'm surrounded by retards who don't shoot them down.

having great fun with Riot Shield, Scavenger, Smoke and Claymores atm

don't particularly win but great fun to wind up other side on TD.

chuck the smoke, then go for it, mass confusion, drop a claymore or 2 or 3 - and either get them with melee or they come after you and blow the claymore :)

scavenger bit means you can just keep smoking :)

just been doing some single player on veteran, when people say "the best way to play cod games is to do the single player on veteran" are talking bull because all you do is shoot, hide, shoot, hide, refill health, shoot, hide, shoot hide, refil health. Then you walk around a corner and get shot because a guy is already standing there ready for you to come round the corner.I think flying through the single player on normal, then enjoy cod the way it should be enjoyed and thats online

This pretty much sums up why ive not done it on veteran myself.

Of course it's the way to play it as it's a challenge, a 3 year old girl could finish the game on normal. It's not much fun if you just keep pushing forward and can ignore the fact your getting shot, like you can on normal.

I suppose it depends on if you want a walkthrough or a challenge. TBH this was by far the easiest veteran of all the games as well. It flows well on vet on MW2, kinda how it flows on hardened on COD4.

i want to finish the game and have fun,not finish the game at a snails pace waiting for badguys to come wave after wave while i hide and duck to gain my health and pick of a couple bad guys at a time.A 3 year old prob could finish it on normal and i bet they enjoyed finishing it,and not sit there wanting to throw there pad out window and swearing there head of when they are constant respawning or a granade rolling to there feet and exploding.A 3 year old could finish it on veteran using about 20,000 respawns and going to checkpoint after checkpoint.

I didnt find the veteran mode to be that hard in Modern Warfare 2. I think its widely accepted to be one of the easier CODS... There arent as many levels with respawning enemies in MW2 and not loadsa grenades... WAW on the other hand is exactly this and not fun at all in Veteran.

dont get me started on WAW,the level with the trench's and the caves,i smashed my pad because i threw it out window.I can see the point in playing it on veteran with no health refils because then it would be insane, but it just makes the game so slow and dull playing it on veteran now, just constant hiding to refill health then shoot a few bad guys , hide refill, run to checkpoint, shoot some bad guys, hide, refill health.I would much rarther fly through it having fun and enjoying the single player, then jump straight onto multiplayer.I think main reason people play veteran is not to enjoy it,but to whore the gamerpoints

WaW is totally awful, I managed to do the trenches after a few hours with my pad just about in tact. I agree gaming like that isnt fun. MW2 is better on hardest setting but I can see how playing it on normal and just enjoying the experience is the best way to enjoy the game for many people. I agree and probably wouldnt bother to replay many games on harder settings without my achievement whoring needs.

It's not an experience on normal, you may as well watch a bad film becuase with snap auto aim you can play it like a zombie. At the very least COD needs to be played on Hardened for COD 2,3,4 and Vet for MW2. The flow of the others on Hardened is a challenge but constant and on Vet for MW2 I don't remember spending more than 2 or 3 tries on any section. It really wasn't hard.

Kids today are so whiney, us real old gamers had to start the whole game again when you lost 3 lives. None of this health regen stuff. We just manned up and got through the games. ;)

Sometimes you just have to accept your not good enough to finish a game and move on.

WaW was awful on the single player! I could not imagine even trying the last few missions on veteran. The one where you have to storm that building near the end, I struggled on medium. :o

I've done the last 5 Cods on veteran, varied in frustration level and difficulty, but a good challenge and a great sense of achievement when you do it.

Hardest one for me was COD2 and clearing out the farm house.

i normally hate using stopping power and not cold-blooded, but last night i prestiged again and had no choice. I'm doing surprisingly well using stopping power with the Barret .50cal, but i still like cold-blooded for a bit of camping.

Tried using the barret the other night. Never spouted as much abuse at getting hit markers in my life.
