****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

Another COD snore-fest. Woo.

Same tired old engine, same gameplay, same £millions of profit.

I can see why they do it, I think I'll stick to something different though. Plenty FPS's in my Steam that need completing first :D

What a wonderful post. Why not just stick to the BF3 thread instead of filling this one with the same old crap.

:)

Its amusing reading this then looking at the console forum thread which is full of people drooling at the prospect of another cod game..

And it's equally amusing looking at the BF3 thread seeing people drooling at the thought of another BF game.

Both games have their fans who like the respective games for what they offer, there is no need for an elitest attitude or having digs at people who play COD and are looking forward to it.

agree'd people should just chill. its a game and people can play what they like. I dont hope on the thread of games i dont like and slate them as i dont see the point really, would be a waste of time and make me look bitter. Ill be getting bf3 and mw3.

I respect people's opinions that they don't like the COD franchise. What I don't respect is people like yourself filling up the COD threads with absolutle garbage which has no relevance to the game. We know it's the same engine, we know all we get is new maps. You aren't informing us of anything we don't know already. Guess what... we don't care and we will still enjoy playing the game because it's fun.

Yes people are entitled to their opinion, but posting negative opinions/fanboy comments like I posted above don't really add anything of value to an 'official' thread like this, they just breed pages and pages of arguements and detract from the reason of the thread, to discuss what fans of the game think of news that is released, discuss new videos, then discuss the games positive and negative points when it comes out.

From the latest video and the tweets I have read, it seems that IW are trying to freshen things up for COD and take on a new slant on things.

That stuff comes a little later. I can’t confirm anything yet, but right now we’re having conversations about dedicated servers, mod tools and post launch support. I can’t give you an answer yet on what will be included. In Modern Warfare 3 we added IWnet, which was all about matchmaking–with the plan to eventually add in dedicated servers. My ideal philosophy on the PC is to have matchmaking for the “mass.” Have matchmaking for the guys who just want to jump in, hit “play game” and start playing. But let’s not lose that dedicated core audience that wants the dedicated server experience. We’re looking at ways to on how to incorporate that into Modern Warfare 3. We’ve been listening a lot to our PC guys who have been very vocal since Modern Warfare 2 about what they want to see come back to our versions of the franchise.

If its peer to peer you're essentially getting xbox live gameplay with a keyboard and mouse, seen far too many vids to show the host has a significant advantage in mw2, more of the same in this if it has no dedi servers. Personally i think thats a slap in the face to pc gamers.

Only interesting aspect of it for me is the story, enjoyed it in cod4 and mw2, would like to see how it plays out, though im assuming "AMERICA IS TEH WINNAR" is a forgone conclusion. :o

I'll look forward to hopefully another really good single player story like all of the previous Call of Duty games.

That's all CoD games have ever been about for me - not the "oh we'd better have multiplayer" that's tacked onto it.

After the message in back ops about the multiplayer being "free" with the game, it would seem that its only a matter of time before they become 2 different components that are bought seperately,
