****Official Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 thread****

That last bit doesn't follow at all, does it. There are lots of things I could do well in life if I chose to, but it doesn't mean that I like it when others do them.
Yes it does, we are talking about a game not the morals of life. If you can do something in a game which works great for you, you would be a fool to not do, that or a bit anal.

I play to have fun, but I also try to play in a way which isn't cheap and which regularly annoys people. I want to win, but I want the enemy players to think I won fairly, not cheaply.

Ok whatever you say. You have the skill to play how you like, though take the moral high ground, you believe. (Or do you?) Like Pete Samprass should have not served so hard and had long, non cheap rallies. :D
It is a game and I still don't believe you can QS well. Prove me wrong. :)

These are my thoughts exactly.

I just don't get all the hate

The entire entertainment industry is built on selling to the mainstream. Music, films, books, TV and games all make the most money by entertaining the masses.

COD is to games what the Da Vinci Code is to books, Xfactor is to TV, Britney Spears is to music and Rocky is to films.

Also consider that yesterday, the worldwide release of COD 8, the peak total players on PC was around
100,000. Split roughly 60-40 between MP and SP. That's a such a small percentage of the total sales, I'm surprised they even bother to release the game on PC for all the hate it gets.

One thing is for sure, I installed the game and was playing it straight away, maxed out and without any issues on release day. I can't say the same for Battlefield 3.

Not a fanboi of either franchise, but I do like both for what they are and have played most of the previous games too.

This.

And to add to that - the fact that gaming as a whole has had a massive population of a younger generation to influence it's way of looking at games has fed the community with hate. It will soon level itself out.
If I were in charge I would make every game purchase link up with your passport or national identification because to be completely honest this would be making the game much more pleasant to play and by a massive margin at that.

My thoughts:
I saw a comment on on a video on Youtube yesterday that wrapped it up for me and they said "MW3 is basically MW 1.5" Which in my opinion is the sweet spot, the raw core of the game feels like COD 4 with the ******** taken out and some balanced features added. I won't count my chickens yet but this is looking to be a very impressive title.

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by shaping up “to be a very impressive title”?

Also the reason why they dont give a **** about PC gamers is because we dont follow Activision round like love sick puppies and aren't blind to the fact that they're now taking the utter **** out of a franchise which was nothing short of genius! It doesn't surprise me at all that a massive number of their audience are kids ages 10+

I don't need to prove you wrong, I don't do it so I'm not good at it, and I never said I was.

I also don't, for example, camp in a dark corner of a room focused on a doorway and fire the moment some hapless enemy walks into it, because that would be lame and cheap too, even though I could.

Opinion is polarised on quick scoping. Some think it's fine, others think it's cheap and we'll just have to agree to disagree. But to say that people who don't like it, only dislike it because they have tried it and can't master it? No, that is just silly :)

True, don't forget the fact nothing in the game has really changed to much from COD4. :/

The reason why it has been swamped by children is simply because it's the "in" thing and when the kids get hold of the flavour of the month they stick around and exploit - except this seems to be an on going trend. Activision are a corporate company and much like the world today money is priority and unfortunatly Activision and every company involved knows they have people hooked on the series. People will buy the game because if they don't they feel left out hence why it's funny when customers hate on it because they buy it to have an opinion and that is the beauty of it as well as it's worst enemy.

People will always have opinions.

And to elaborate on my comment, I played Black Ops and within 5 hours I was bored, burnt out and just about done. With the previous titles I was excited and now the same for this. I think this game's competitive audience are going to love it, the maps feel structured for routes and effective play not to mention 16 of them as standard!

What i am very very shocked at is that xbox cod players themselves have finally realised that they’ve paid for nothing more than a map pack!! These people to be are the real CoD fan boi’s.

I’m so bloody happy, really hope now that they can produce a modern version of the great COD4 with support for pc gamers (I live in hope)….

I wonder if this is enough for Activation to finally build a new engine… we’ll see!

I think the hatred myself included (have played every cod game)comes from the console peasants remarks who think they are ones who invented the series and online gaming,it really does get on my nerves.:(

Well reading peoples reviews you seem to be in the minority.

I’ve been saying this quite a lot on these forums… You’ve summed up what I was trying to get across about COD being the “in” thing with kids. Sadly that is holding them back from improving. I know money is everything but surely MW3 was a step too far and as a result it seems they’ll now lose a large part of the community due to this being nothing more than a Map pack. CoD could have at least made a slight effort and perhaps finished off Battlefield by releasing something which even remotely came close to what BF3 is currently offering.

Oh well for me the CoD series is now officially dead. I will never buy another game from them until they build a new engine!

How come this thread only has 3 stars and BF3 thread has 5 stars:confused:

lol, this is the same as the previous MW games, they didnt even bother to update the graphics. Im glad i didnt pay full price for this. ill let you little kids play your arcade game and i will go play a proper FPS in Battlefield 3
