*****Official Crysis 3 Thread*****

Thought I would revisit this with my new system and it's so disappointing, yes it runs a lot better on my GTX 980 but even so it just feels horrible.

Visuals, gameplay and sorry are dull, easily the worst game in the series.

The environments are are horribly restrictive yet confusing at times, which feels very strange.

Crysis 4, if it ever gets released will probably be even worse, how did they go from Crysis to Crysis 3? it's a completely different game, it's hard to believe they are from the same developers.
 
Original Crysis is still one of my favourite games of all time, largely due to the sheer versatility of its sandbox environment. I haven't yet played Crysis 3, as my gtx 670 can't handle it at a satisfactory frame rate with the visuals turned up, but I'm hoping to remedy that later this year, with either an r9 390x or gtx 1080 (or whatever they end up being called) :)

I agree about the original crysis. I was disappointed by crysis 2 but enjoyed 3 a lot more. Have you tried 3 with the visuals turned down a bit to see what frame rate you get?
 
They've gone steadily down hill story and gameplay wise and better visually with every game they've made, Far Cry was the last game they made that I couldn't put down. Crysis was one of those games I spent more time benching than I did playing, 2 and 3 looked great but ultimately I gave up on both of them through boredom.
 
Cry 2 was awful - 0 replay value. Cry 1 was great, at least for me. I enjoyed and I've played it more than once. I still haven't gotten to Cry 3... not sure I can run it with r9 270?
 
Only getting around to buying this now - anyone know where is the cheapest place to buy it?

Also, will my system (in sig), handle it ok?
 
why does Crysis 3, always crash on my PC , nothing else does . like every 5-10 Minutes without fail ;/
 
Really been enjoying playing crisis 3. Never played any of the others.
Only bought it as was cheap.
Surprised that the graphics for a 2013 game are still very good. I do think we have been slightly spoiled of late with graphics.
Surprised my Overclocked gtx 980 while doesn't struggle still can dip down heavily in fps although everything is maxed (1080p). However I must say even when the fps dip the action is much much smoother than other games which dip less. Witcher 3 for instance I noticed even small dips in fps, cry 3 heavy fps dips still pretty smooth. However witcher 3 might of improved since I played it when it first came out.

Anyhow for anyone who hasn't played it I would certainly recommend it. Not the most interesting storyline but a solid game that still has great graphics. I would only buy it if you can max the setting though.

The first Crysis and then the follow up Crysis Warhead are by far the best games in the series. You really should play them :) The graphics of these first two are still really great too, and there are mods out there.

Crysis 3 is still arguably the best looking and most GPU punishing title out there so you shouldn't be at all surprised your 980 gets whipped at times.
