Official Crysis Demo thread

Did you measure the fps with FRAPS or a console code or are you guessing?

It isn't a disk problem as I have a RAID0 array and I don't see a lot of harddrive activity, I have also disabled a lot of services in XP so that's not it either.

:D:D Fraps, It really would not help anyone to be guessing fps...although I think some people maybe don't guess but take a flash measurement ;)

Well sounds like My theory's a waste of time..:D

The important point is the Mouse stays pretty good even when the game is dragged down to (just checked bench logs) 17.5 fps average

Hey ! I'm trying to help people here not blow sunshine up My PC's exhaughst fan..:D

I know what you mean.

i was testing drivers and the reason i would run very high because i like eye candy and i want to see all the effects that crysis is currently offering.

I hope that answers your question :p

Good answer, why the hell would anyone not want to see at least what it looked like on very high!

Well, as it's a game I would have thought Highest settings that gave a playerble frame rate is the most important.....But it's Your Choice..:p

yes but thats what you do when you have no choice, hence i and most are running it on "high" but we would like to run very high at playable fps but at the moments it looks like we need newer gfx card or if we are lucky maybe final game and newer drivers may allow us to enjoy the candy :p

The gameplay doesnt appeal to you, I dont believe the graphics is 'why I wont play this' or you'd never have played any games in years previous to this.

Reminds me of a 10yr old who wont eat his chips without ketchup, god help the industry if thats who they have to win over to sell a game
I would rather wait and play a game as it is intended to be played, even if that means waiting to see how things pan out.

A better analogy would have been a 10 yr old refusing to eat week old chips rather than waiting for a fresh batch

But hey, some people are happy with sub-standard products

The physics seem to need some work, in the editor for example if you launch a nuke, tree's get unaffected by the blast regardless of how close they are. Plus the rocks from the explsion dont even cause splashes when hitting into the water.
