***Official DC Universe Online Thread***

Dammit, I don not know whether to play on the US realms or EU. I just know I'll probably regret rolling on the US server in the future. I think a lot of EU people don't even realise it's released yet.

In any event, I'll probably make an Ice Power guy with Flight and Hand Blast/Brawling

EU server I am on isn't dead by a long shot but it seems there are more villians than superheroes on it atm, which is sort of how it should be, gives you that comic book feel of everyone out to get the hero and you battle through it.

Stuck with EU though and glad I did as a few mates went US instead and are continually stuck in queue's for the game, pings are all over for them too.

It seems the disc version is out on the 14th, maybe the EU servers will fill up then?

Getting to level 15 in one sitting seems a bit dodgy to me.

If the guys right, and most of his league will be level 30 when he gets back from work, doesn't matter what the end games like I can see it getting boring fast.

I'm on the EU PvE server and last night it seemed pretty busy when I was on from about 9pm to midnight, or at least it was near the mobs for quests. Then again most of the time I was just exploring some of the city running up the buildings to the rooftops.

If I decided to move to the US servers would I have to re-install rather than just select the region in options?

That's usually the case Yosiah.

1-10 is usually pretty straight forward, but even that can take a couple of days with a new game. I would have thought 1-6 maybe.

If this guy is right and and it takes two days to ding 30 then I see no point in levelling at all.

Edit: In fact, what time was this unlocked yesterday?

Guys I still can’t get in:mad: I know there was an issue last night with keys if you bought from steam, which I did. I tried this morning before I left for work and still no luck, any help will be much appreciated and I will try when I get home from work this evening.

I click on the DCUO desktop item, the little steam box appears which tells me what game I’m about to play and the access code, I have two options copy to clipboard and play, I click both. The DCUO login screen appears I type in my station name and password, which I created on the SOE website. It logs in and the play button is greyed out. I tried changing to US server and tried EU server both say no access.

I then click account(top right corner) this allows me to add my access key which I did and said “access code already used. I went back into my account page on SOE website and clicked add activation key, did that and same thing, access code already used. I then clicked subscription status and it saying closed, I click that and says, please buy more game time, I tried to do that, choose one month, put in card details and then the confirm purchase is greyed out?? So I really don’t know what the issue is.

Just read this from the Steam boards and not sure how to do this and if this is the fix.:confused:

Keys are now in place.

Verify your GCF files and you should be able to start the game successfully.

Thanks for reading.

I've played the beta...and I can honestly tell you that for the most part, after getting to 30, it isn't boring. You have to do raids/alerts/duos to get your marks of triumphs/distinctions to get you the iconic armour to really give your character all the buffs you require.

Also, with the release of the new Green Lantern movie out later this year, there's going to be a tie in with that within the game. Trust me, DC will have surprises all over the store for us with this game. Most are hoping for a Blackest Event :D

Luckily no one in my league has reached 30...think the highest we have so far is 23 or 25. From level 20 it gets a little more tricky to level. But if you do duos and alerts between 20 and 30, you can pick up awesome loot and use them during quests and get awesome loots from said quests. Then when it's time to raid, that's when the fun begins :D

I activated my key via my iPhone whilst at work yesterday and I was glad I did, cos I did hear there were issues with Steam last night and people's keys not working. The game was also pre-loaded and it was ready for me to play when I got home from work last night. I selected US servers, sorted out my subscription on SOE (I got my 1 mths free and the first payment won't be taken until 10th Feb). Updated the client with the latest patch and was in within 10min of doing all of this.

I was online from 7.15pm until 1.25am and hit level 15. I am halfway to getting to 16 which shouldn't be a problem. I've also picked up a purple item being Raven's hood from the Trigon/Raven mission in Metropolis.

Also, I highly recommend doing the vault. You get two chances, one with the ticket and one when you hit the Y button on the keyboard to bring up the duos/alerts/raids/legends/arenas menu. I got me a nice Sinestro hoodie there last night :D

Believe me guys, there is so much to this game than you realise. Levelling to 30 might be quick for some and slow for others, but let me say this: TAKE YOUR TIME TO ENJOY THE GAME AND EXPLORE IT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. ;)

So CK any idea what I'm doing wrong of what I should be trying please fella!

First off, make sure the game is pre-loaded (which I am sure it is for you). Click on Play on Steam, let it launch the client. Select the server you will be playing on (I've picked US servers). Once this is done, it should then direct you to the SOE site, where you need to select the subscription you will be using for DCUO. It won't charge you right away. It'll ask for the key so make sure you have this to hand. Once that has been done, go back to the client, let it do it's check and it should start downloading the patch (which is about 9GB in size). Soon as that is done, you should be able to play.

If you are still having problems, I would try removing DCUO from the machine and start over with what I have said. If it still don't work, I'd either contact Steam or SOE.

Of course, because you have already entered the key, you should be able to select the subscription and go from there. It'll more than likely take you to the main DC Universe Online site to do the subscription cos that's what it did for me.

Managed to get some play time on EU servers last night and this morning, was pretty busy.

Really enjoying it so far, recon it could be one to stick with most definately - a welcome change fromt he usual MMO's I play too.

OK, so I'm seeing Level 15 here at the maximum is Level 30.
So that's half way in a day?
Now most games, gaining levels takes longer as you go on.
However are we looking at reaching max level in say 2-3 weeks of play at these rates?

If you don't pay attention to the world around you, you can level to 30 in a day. But if you do the side missions, quests, duos, alerts, everything in between, it can take longer to get to 30. As I said, have fun whilst doing it :)

Thanks for that m8. When I click play it doesn’t take me to the SOE page anymore, it did last night when Steam had issues and I was getting “access code already used”.

I think I need to go back into the subscription page, choose the subscription type (1 month) add my card details and hopefully this time the “confirm purchase” isn’t greyed out as it was last night. If not do what you said, delete it from my machine and do a fresh install” I guess I need to remove it from the add/remove programs and then go back to Steam and download it again? Not done that before
