Well looks like I'm going to cancel my pre-order. Thanks to SOE deciding they want make this game as best as possible (hmm wait to see). they've moved it back to early 2011 for the release date:

I got my pre-order refunded by Steam within 24hrs of contacting them. Should have the money back in my account in the next few days. Now that's what you call service.

SOE on the other hand, you're not getting my money for this game until the release date itself. Beta is more than likely not to be available outside the USA and Canada, so it's pointless me pre-ordering it and waiting until 2011. Now that's what you call shoddy service.

Well did anyone else manage to get into the beta for this? They sent me out a beta key on the last available day yesterday. Everyone else has to wait until 1 week before release?

I've got beta access. Been playing for a few weeks now. Love it. Better than I expected. Cannot wait for it to give live.

I was tempted because i like superhero movies but i just know i wouldnt fit in as i dont read comics or follow anything to do with DC. I know if i get confused with something on the game id have a 40 year old laughing at me for being an "idiot" because i dont know the ins and outs of the DC world. Going to wait for the old republic me thinks.

LOL!! I am 30 mate. It's not about how old you are lol. Just so long as you have enough knowledge. Granted most of the players (including me) read the comics and watch the cartoons and tv shows, so we do tend to converse in all things DC like that. But it's nice

and we all learn something from each other.

You can have your character based on certain characters (Superman, Batman, Flash, Joker, etc) Play as a hero or villain. Or you can customise your own.

Looking forward to this game, if only there was a marvel universe online game! Im sure the fan base from comicbook world will boost online community, i still cant see it cutting enough into blizzard cash cow, maybe SW:Old Republic will make the biggest dent.
Anyhow, creating a superhero and being in the same world as the DC characters sounds fun, mix this will a metropolis thats to match GTA4 will get a buy from me.

Sadly, no game will make a dent in WoW I'm afraid. All the new upcoming release are pretty much the same mechanics as WoW, so they will always be compared to WoW.
