I would try stopping all windows programs and services that are not necessary. I myself run vista 64 with nothing running. Not even an anti-virus program running. I check for viruses a few times a year and have never had anything reported.

Thinking about buying this today, although i have no OS installed on main pc atm and might be getting linux, think it will run on that? Also considering the ps3 version as a lot of people have said its looking good on there and works well with controller.

It def feels made for a control pad, must say im a pc gamer but feeling much more comfortable using a 360 controller on the pc for this game.

Came back from my weekend away and glad to see that the EU PvE server is now high pop and that was at 2am 
Just hit lvl 17 as of last night, using a 2 handed ice tank at present. Fingers crossed this week I will find a league to join and get into some of the bigger alerts and PvP legends games

I still dont get how this is easier on a controller :\ ive had absolutely no issues with standard keyboard/mouse, thats without even needing to remap anything, it all just works fine and i'm a pretty hardcore fps player.
Also that gamespy review is a joke, their reviews are dubious at the best of times but anyone that has played the game will realise that those 2 that played it didnt even bother to learn what some of the menus do (lock appearances) or what the block/break cc stuff is for in a pvp context. They perhaps did 1 instance and then complained when they werent constantly running around with batman at their side. Grey, hello mate. Managed to get on yesterday after all the trouble I have had! I loaded it up on a 6 year old Pentium 4 pc I had and its working fine.
Just cant get it running on my new rig for some reason! Must be something with a graphics card which is not allowing it to procede after the char page

Currently I am backwards and forwards between metropolis and gotham, not done most of the alerts and legend pvp battle yet as need better gear/levels.
Staff good for an ice tank CK? so far got points in Bow and duel wielding. aiming for the dominance in Hand Blasters next. Quite like the bow.
What build you got for your power points btw?

The staff is by far the best weapon for an Ice tank. In fact for any role it is awesome. When you do the Focused Spin (holding down the right mouse button), you don't take damage so it helps. Also for Ice Tank, I would highly recommend mixing up Storms and Cryogenics. Cos in the Cryogenics tree you have Reflection. Use this to deflect back the next 3 attacks from your attacker and they take additional damage from it. It does save your life when used at a crucial moment. I tend to spam it as much as possible

I need to look into Cryogenics, all my points are in storms atm for both offensive and defensive. I went 2H Hammer, slow as hell but it dishes out the damage, especially with most the movement combo's going. Need to look into staffs but does it do any more damage over a 2H hammer? I assume that the staff is faster on it's attacks but for slightly less dps?

I think I'm still around Metropolis. Tried to do Legend pvp last night but queues where just crazy.
I went Ice too, dual wield with two axe's(from a quest) - reminds me of my shammy!
I have mixed mine up a bit, they both in Cryogenics and Storms. I thought this was a mistake but CK confirmed that you should be doing this!

The 2 handed hammer does dish out more dps. I have the hammer and staff and also I am specced out for dual wield swords. When I am in tank I use the hammer and in dps mode I use the staff. The Hammer I have currently has 18 dominance so it helps to increase my dom when in tank mode. The staff at present gives out more dps than the hammer. So it's really worth noting that you should spec out for other weapons. Especially if you're in a duo/alert/raid and a purple version of the weapon drops, you can get some serious points out of them. The hights dps on a weapon you can get from these raids is 97.1. And that's when you're ready to give hell

Thanks for the heads up, only lvl 17 atm so don't have the full points for skills available to me atm so I will take note of the weapons and builds/powers etc and then grind for cash so I can keep respeccing until I find a build that works for me xD Even at level 17 though I seem to pull the aggro quite well. Went in with a group the other night into for one of the wanted posters. can't remember the mob now but it was lvl 20 other members in the group were lvl 18-20 and I was taking the aggro, glad the healer was spot on
Loving the game but as with any MMO that involves armour etc I sit there for ages huming and harring over which item to wear as one will take 20 health of me but give me something like +20 might, precision or defense which is obviously better for me tanking than a bit of health that I can recoup from the trinket I found.

I picked up a hard copy of this today and getting on-line didn't take too long which I was surprised by. First impressions are okay, there's a lot going on and I only played for around an hour so far but it seems alright, never played an mmo before but i'll see how this one turns out.
Did you happen to get a free trial pass with that? A friend of mine would love to play for himself to see if he'll ditch wow for this, unfortunately as i got it through steam i didnt get any trials.

ahh thats probably why i find it easier on controller, i dont play many fps games on the pc mainly rpg,strat,manager games.

really like this game but shocked to be booted from the game at EU primetime!
They could really do with some more information on the powers. Took the turret in Gadgets because it sounded quite nice. Completely and utterly useless! Rifles seems to be the only ranged ability that is up to scratch with hand blasters and pistols being horribly weak in comparison. Need to mess about with the melee options more, quite liking 2 handed but no real idea what power set to add to it.
