So what Server does everyone play on im playing the Euro Servers so really wanting to know what european server has you guys on as would be good to be able to group up ingame for a bit of fun...
 
Currently trying different builds and characters on reality lost eu pve - if you've got a villain or a hero around level 10 hit me up either on Vorpax (villain - fate sorceress) or Metropolis Kid (hero - fire tank).

To those in the know: is the number of weapon styles limited to two, or can i choose as many as I want, skill points allowing?

You'll want to branch in to a lot more as you get more skill points, all the passive selections in the weapon trees apply all the time no matter what weapon youre using.

If you have enough skill points, you can spec into any weapon you choose. But make sure the weapons you spec into give you extra points for your role.

For example, I am an ice tank, so I need a lot of dominance and defsense. So I spec into certain weapon trees just to get the extra dominance/defense points so when I switch to tank, my dominance is almost 500 (currently 488) and my defense is 2131. The weapons I have specced into are Staff, Rifle and Brawling. As I get more skill points I will spec into other weapons that give extra dominance and defense.

So for controller, you need dominance and vitalization. For dps, you need power and might and also precision. For healer, you need restoration. Increasing things like critical healing and critical attack can help as well, so be sure to spend points on these when you can.

The styles themselves are limitless if you are specced into that weapon. So if you use a staff, you can collect as many styles as you want for the staff. I think my tank has about 7 different staff styles. You can change the style when you equip that particular weapon. But remember to be specced into it first. It's no good having a double handed hammer and you cannot use it cos you're not specced into it.

But if you get an epic weapon (that's the 97.1 dps ones) and it's either for your role or it's a dps only weapon, then I highly recommend speccing into that weapon.

Last night during our Khandaq raid, I picked up a tank rifle with 97.1 dps. I specced into it and that's how my defense is now 2131 and dominance is 488 and my health is a tasty 3011. Add that to the fact that after doing both Outer Caverns and Khandaq, I had enough marks of distinctions to buy 3rd Tier 2 piece which was the Superman helmet.

So there ya have it. hope that helps and then some lol :D

It did yeah - the way I understand it, as a fire tank my main areas of focus are:

defence/health/restoration/crit heal chance is that right? At least looking at how the talent tree is based around self healing and higher health.

In some ways yes. But you still need dominance and lots of it. a bit of restoration is ok. But your main two are defense and dominance. cos when you go in hard alerts and raids, you'll be the main focus of the NPCs as you need to keep them away from the rest of the group, especially the healers and controllers.
 
Who's set for tomorrow? content being released...major changes galore...this could do either way for most of us. We either like the new changes or we'll hate them. One things for sure I can't wait to run the new Batcave raid :D

Can't wait to into the game! I've been watching countless streams and reviews for a number of weeks now.

CK, any tips for someone who's crossed over from other MMO's like WoW and Champions Online?
 
Yeap COJ are going to run the next part of the Batcave tomorrow. :)

I'm really looking forward to it also.

Have both other raids on farm now, so tier 2 should come to us a little faster now.

Expect a lot of different things with this game. I've heard many people who have moved from WoW and CO how different DCUO is but for them, it's the combat system, the gameplay and the graphics that do it for them. But on top of that, they have masses and masses of fun.

You still have the usual roles (controller aka power/mana regen, tank, healer and dps). But you have 3 mentors either side of heroes and villains. For the heroes you have Superman (meta), Batman (tech) and Wonder Woman (magic). Villains have Lex Luthor, The Joker and Circe as their mentors.

All I will say is, just enjoy it to the best you can. And with the new content out tomorrow, hopefully things will be better. They will be nerfing a lot things, which is not surprising, but it'll definitely test us in how we use our powers and skills more.

I just clocked on your league name lol. CoJ. You guys are on Zero Hour aren't you? I am in DC Raiders :D You will have seen a few of us running around the place haha.

Oooh...I am so excited for the new patch...It'll be interesting that's for sure :D

Good luck with your Batcave raid tonight. I am sure it'll be a hoot and a half :D

I play on bloodstorm EU server, there are a few in this league from Here, forget who now.
