***Official DC Universe Online Thread***

A quick teaser of my 2nd character called Black Blur. Now lvl 30 and I got me my first mentor iconic armour. Not hard to guess what it is lol:

Finally! colours in the style tab.

There is a lot of niggles that I have with this beta, but the community is large for the beta and they generally seem to be taking in the criticism.

Release should be a great product. I doubt it will knock WoW subscribers but I feel it has its very own place in gaming. I'll be picking it up if it keeps improving like this.

Edit* Are we okay to talk about this stuff in here?

I wasn't able to get back into the game late last night after the patch. So I haven't had chance to see the new changes. I will find out later tonight when I get home as I am still at work. Hopefully I won't find it as disappointing as you have mate.
 
Ok word just filtered through that DC Universe Online will be released on Jan 11th 2011. A lot earlier than I was expecting to be honest but good at the same time. Wonder if I can change my pre-order to the Collector's Edition from Play. Going to have a spy now.
 
It's something that's easily fixed but it's really annoying for now.

You now run out of mana very quickly in combat, it's as though the regen isn't really there. The changes to controllers haven't changed how my current ones play as they're not max level, but the changes to general mana combined with their changes make me not want to finish leveling them as group content really will require me to take up 2/3 of my hotbar with mana skills for the group.

The dev post about it was really naive but they do seem to listen on most things so hopefully they will on this one and either revert or think up some new mana management method.

Yeah i saw that on the IGN interview earlier and not sure what i think of it. I'll pre-order it tonight as i think it's definately worth it for the free 30 days after playing the beta, just not sure whether i'll play it for more than 1-3 months.

To be fair though, i do have a fair bit more faith in this one than i did in CO. CoH doesn't count as it mugged me unexpectedly at release and stole 4 years of my gaming time :p

I might have a spare key. I've a text document on my desktop with a DC beta key in it that i don't remember getting, if its real i must have got it when i came home on Saturday night as i don't remember lol.

I'll send it via trust fella.

The new patch has made the game worse than before. I won't go into specifics but put it this way, only 2 raids are now present and 4 duos. Plus the missions have changed somewhat and your skill points have been reset or any new ones you had before the patch have been taken off. Thanks DC and Sony. Might cancel my pre-order now.
 
If anyone still wants a PC beta key TenTonHammer will be giving away keys on Christmas Eve at noon Eastern time. No idea how many though.

edit: Wow that opening cinematic is amazing.

as a comic book reader, I was mightily impressed with the opening sequence. apart from Superman looking pretty much evil, though I imagine they were all a little morally compromised during that war.

Really enjoying the game after level 10. once ya can get involved in things with other people.

plus my dude just looks bad ass.
