Fixed flashing icons on F10 map.

Su-25T cockpit. Corrected some issues with shape and textures.

3D. Added new model and animation of ATGM 9M113.
The lock and tracking range of SAM radars is increased.
SAM radars no longer detect helicopters on the ground.
The maximum range of tank laser rangefinders decreased to 4000 m.
Elevation of missile launchers corrected to prevent sinking missiles after launch.
Tank ballistics computer improved.
Added Command Panel for tactical commander to the F7 View.

Removed gunsight reticle in civilian variant.

Mind you still no sign of edge yet .........
 
Really looking forward to the actual release version of 1.28 and its F15 with new advanced physics model and Huey with attachable loads. EDGE is planed for 1.30 I believe I've read somwhere.

And don't go knocking Falcon until someone can come up with a dynamic campaign that can hold a candle to it ;)

EDGE is a new render engine for DCS , big on promise low on actual delivery

It is supposed to be faster better stronger etc etc , but it has a somewhat mythical status
due it never actually arriving , it is a veritable land of unicorns and dragons etc etc
 
I've played DCS A-10c since beta, I had played LockOn/Flaming Cliffs when I was much younger in a "I have no idea what I'm doing" kind of way, but when the A-10c came out I was hooked immediately, it was my first real combat study sim. It was mostly due to not having friends who also played, now I'm surrounded by them.

I'd never heard of Falcon 4.0 until about 4 years ago and I shunned it wrongly for it's age, not understanding the amazing work BMS have done to it.

Now my point is, I'm at that stage where I'm getting tired of playing the same missions in DCS, the community seems very inactive in making them and the headache in simply going from desktop to take-off can at times be a chore.
"We've played this like 20 times, this mission isn't compatible anymore - this one is broken, a long list of these missions are cack, oh this needs a CA player, a FC3 player or BS2 player, this has too many slots, or not enough."

Then I played my first BMS game, connect - dynamic mission generation(Dogfight, premade mission or Campaign),slot, play. You can spend more time pre-launch with loadouts, change waypoints and points of interest and if you're tired of start-up and want to get right into it - go right to taxi/takeoff.

It's something that came to my realisation yesterday after all this time that it's really hard for me to go back to DCS, I loaded it up with a friend and we just wanted to play x2 A-10c capable missions - of which the likes of fob vetka and such are too predictable. DCS really, really needs a dynamic mission manager for multiplayer.

Also in before someone says "make your own" - well, I don't think it's reasonable for a game to have to ask you to make missions before playing.
 
DCS World

Added FREE TF-51D for DCS World! This is the P-51D with the weapons, radios and rear tank removed with a jump seat added in the back. This does not include dual controls.
Added Su-25T 6 DOF cockpit.
Added initial Oculus Rift support, this does not include front end GUI yet.
AGM-114L/K: Increased speed to about 1.4M.
TACAN added to Lochini International (25X; TBS).
Corrected detection ranges of ground target by aircraft sensors. This can determine spotting of enemy ground units when Fog of War mode is enabled.
MQ-1 Predator: The radar has been removed.
Corrected wingtips vortex position for flyable aircraft.
Corrected HE warheads for unguided rockets.
SAM Hawk: Decreased altitude detection range from 25 to 22 km. Increased missile battery control time from 60 to 80 seconds.

Reworked chaff and flare rejecting logic for AA and SAM missiles.

Added F-15C Advanced Flight Model (AFM)
Added Su-33 6DOF cockpit.

A-10A: "Minimum Speed" sound is no longer heard during repairs.
MiG-29: EOS has had its detection range reduced to realistic performance levels.
Russian fighters. The angular size of HUD indication was reduced to real volumes.
A-10A: Bombs fall with undershoot in CCRP mode is fixed.
Su-33. Mirrors will have an image reflection.
Russian fighters. BVR. Corrected range of target marks on the HUD.
Fixed issue with Su-33 take-off from carrier.
Su-25. The plate of airbases list in the cockpit are corrected.
Su-25. Missed cockpit textures behind the right shoulder was added.

Left smoke generator will no longer be present when user added to loadout through in-game menu {LAlt + '}.

Fully and do mean fully (electrics, hydraulics, advance flight model... you name it) modelled Mustang is a pretty good freebie! I would never have bought it myself, not for modern theatre DCS world anyway, but now that its free I have to say it's a fun experience!

 
I just installed DCS world and enjoying it,miss the olf flying games like tfx and apache longbow, now just waiting for a sale on the dlc.
 
DCS is quite a breathtaking sim, I've spent about a hundred hours in the Ka-50 and about the same amount in A-10c. Definitely among the best video game experiences that I ever had. I have semi arcade Flaming Cliffs 3 as well, will give it some time after the exams are over (now that they have advanced physics for the supersonic F15 - a first for DCS).
 
Free Mustang... another kick in the teeth to paying customers. Eagle Dynamic can go to hell.

Freebie mustang is unarmed

Recently got back into A10ing, i like the 104th phoenix server - always seems to have a decent amount of people on and the missions are mostly quite simple and close quarters. Main downside is everyone loves the fast jets so if you get locked in a ground pounder chances of survival are slim. My reasonably working tactics are staying as low, ~500ftAGL upto the targets and getting the hell out of there if the RWR gets too noisy or flares/chaff start popping. Then again I'm still a bit of a noob in this so im probably doing it all wrong...

never actually got round to playing the world. just played some of the a-10 game in the past....and failed lol! I could start up and fly about but all the systems..... I just didn't have the patience for....

think it's about time I broke the joystick out and gave this a go again :D might need a new joystick tho as my cyborg evo is probably a bit dated/busted. at least I remember the base being a bit pants so when turning a corner would lift up :p
