*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Did anyone else notice theres a serious lack of pistol ammo late game? I didnt really use it much but my ammo stockpile steadily decreased throughout the game. Fortunately for the later bosses I used the 'heavy rifle'(i think) and just spammed them to death with that and didnt really break a sweat

If I do another run through I might have to ditch it and go for the combat rifle instead, I seemed to find plenty of ammo for that later on. I didnt really try the shotgun or the sniper rifle. I always seemed to get hammered when close to the enemies so I figured it was better to stay away from them and the rifle meant you needed to keep out of cover if you used the scope which meant I just got hammered at range instead.

Yeah same with combat rifle ammo tho, I had both pistol and combat rifle modded out but after awhile I'd have like 9 ammo for each :( and couldn't find any more in significant quantites... very annoying, meanwhile tons of shotgun ammo and tranq darts, etc. everywhere... almost at the point of stopping playing because I don't want to change weapons and I don't have the ammo to complete it with the ones I have.

Got to stop reading this thread, despite my previous comment on the yellow tint im itching to give it a shot, 1 big problem, bank account doesnt have enough money and being bank holiday monday tomorrow (my pay day) means i got extra pay last week to cover it, but i decided to pay my bills :( ah well another week of reading and dreaming lol.

I like the critical conversations, or more common ones. You can actually see the expressions on their face change as you speak the words from your choice of dialog. Good stuff.

Saved it last night before my ride to China. Seem to be with the minority here in that I've put at least 15 hours into it already. I don't get the point of rushing through a game like this, only to what, play it again but 'go stealth' this time round?

You already know the story so better to savour the experience much as possible first play through? It's like playing only 2/3 of the game.

I really don't want to forget about Portal 2, but i'm maybe starting to think this as well

Oh I haven't forgotten about Portal 2.

Portal 2 was good but this is great.

Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed Portal 2, the liner story line does grind a short while through. Against a game which has so many different ways to play through, I'm afraid, I don't think it stands a chance.

Closest competitor this year, I think will be Batman.

Doesn't surprise me much. Deus Ex had the same problem, Pistol ammo would dry up towards the end and you'd find yourself using the Assault Rifle more and more.

But stopping playing seems a little silly...

Guess I could back track and try and find some ammo, but the whole point of the game sort of is to customise it to your gamestyle so having to go off half-arsed with weapons/tactics I don't want to play ruins the experience for me.

the three shells in one of the toilets gave a giggle, cracking game and most enjoyable SP since HL and the original Day of Sex !

Incredibly ****ed off!

Been having problems for about a week getting bsod's, i thought i sorted it but i just got another one during the game just as i was getting in to it, but thats not what has ****ed me off most.

Basically, i had to turn my internet off at midnight for reasons i will not go in to, it's not a problem though as i don't need it. Anyway, i have a bsod and it reboots so i think i'll continue with my game, only to be greeted with the most ingenious message ever as i try to run steam in offline mode "unable to connect to steam servers, problem with network settings" or something:rolleyes:

You literally couldn't make it up!!
So i have had to stop for the night, which is annoying as i'd only been playing for around an hour and i had set time for playing it during the night.

You need to be online to go into offline mode - can't go offline without a connection.

I've not had a single crash while playing the game myself, but do get a lot of stutter - seems to be caused by the game doing memory/texture management as it goes to try and keep the game inside console spec footprint :( something thats not needed on PC.
