Could be a VRAM issue if you are using max textures, (high resolution 1080p+) and/or high levels of AA. Monitor it with MSI Afternburner or similar.

If that doesn't seem to be the problem, turn off motion blur, SSAO, and reduce shadow quality. I played on a comprable system (overclocked i5-750, GTX470) and had 90+ fps.

Was that 90FPS with everything on high or with the things you suggested?

Currently going through my second playthrough, im about 85% through the game. I jut think its brilliant, the only negatives for me is the boss battles they aint very fun or special.
I bought missing link in the steam deals yesturday so im looking forward to trying that out:)

I was thinking of playing through this again over the next few weeks and going for the sneaking achievements. I realised that I might as well use sit back and use my X-box controller, as I will not be shooting anyone, so will not really need to aim!

I would have loved some more dlc for this:(....one of the hubs that they planned.

Bit of a bump...

Just now restarting the game (for the fourth play through!) and have decided this time to try and do it with stealth and non-lethal. Any tips as to the best way to go about this, which are the best Praxis upgrades and in what order?

How far have people actually got doing it this way before throwing the towel in and reverting to lethal mode? I presume if you keep lethal force to a minimum you still get a better rating at the end, than if you just execute everyone in sight?

Assuming by stealth you mean attempting 0 detections and assuming by non-lethal you mean you'll still take people down but only with non-lethal weapons/takedowns...

There is no rating or anything like that at the end, the main advantage for stealth is the exp. For some stupid reason, non-lethal takedowns and KO's give you a 'Merciful' exp bonus and you can also get the Ghost and Smooth Operator exp boosts too so after not too long, if you took absolutely everyone in the level down using non-lethal takedowns or non-lethal stun gun/tranquilizer headshots without being spotted or triggering alarms you can end up with a huge exp boost.

So as far as upgrades goes. Depending on how you wanna play it, you might want Cloak a little early on to quickly skip past enemies, or you might want run silent for the same reason, both can allow you to get into better positions to take down enemies, so you'll probably want energy regen maxed out early on if you plan on doing a lot of takedowns. Getting the double takedown can be handy but does sometimes result in enemies spotting you a microsecond before you take them down and losing your ghost bonus (I think).

Thanks for that! I managed to keep it non-lethal so far with a couple of exceptions, confronted by a load of DRB in Detroit and couldn't be bothered to stack boxes to use ladders and crawlways then again in the factory before the first boss encounter, took 5 spec ops out with a frag grenade.

One upgrade I found useful is to increase strength as some hidden paths lie behind heavy crates and boxes, which you can't lift with standard muscles.

Human revolution crossfire help

I'm finally getting around to playing this but I'm having zero joy getting it playable. Specs are as in sig, with a 3.5Ghz hex core cpu and a 6870x2 GPU I should be getting more than 20fps at 1920x1200 and with all the graphic options turned off!

Looking at the task manager and MSI afterburner, my CPU is sitting at around 10% while trying to play it, so it isn't even maxing out one core. However, one core of my GPU is sitting at 100% and the other is wavering between 0 and 10%.

Clearly, there's an issue with crossfire working, but how do I fix this? I have the 12.11 beta drivers (Switched back to them after having issues in a couple of games with the 13.1s), and have the current CAP installed as well. How can I make the game realise there's a second GPU there to use?

I got all excited when I saw the directors cut was coming out with tweaked boss fights, so that you can approach them differently, but it is apparently only in the Wii version:mad:...I hope they sort out a PC update as well!!...they haven't ruled it out so fingers crossed:)

This game has too many game and quest breaking bugs. I recommend saving every 10 mins.

An hour or so ago I accidentally EMP'd myself and lost my HUD+augs. Assuming it would come back at some point I soldiered on. Now I have to reload a manual save I made 3-4 hours ago to get my HUD back.

Apparently if you get caught in an EMP you can get bugged and *never* get your HUD or augs back, ever. And no, this isn't supposed to happen (yes I know about that bit).

Sooooo frustrating.

Earlier in the game I had to spend an hour or so getting a critical NPC unstuck, as he was moving around in an area outside the playable game area.

Damn bugs. They won't ever get fixed either :(

i dont think i've ever played non-lethal in any game, it's just kill kill kill all the time:D :D

Deux Ex is one of the best games ever, no bugs for me either
