Cheers DampCat.. Selected the hardest and may go the stealth route for a change :)

The Stealth playstyle adds a LOT of time to your game. My stealth playthrough was 42 hours with (I think) all side quests! I also did a lot of running around to sell stuff I couldn't carry all at once for the cash to pay for Augs.

Stealth is the best way to go with this game, in my opinion. So very satisfying going through areas without setting off any alarms and either taking out everyone silently or, better still, the enemies never having a clue you were there at all :)

The bit where dozens of guards come into the room after the saferoom gets locked is fun if you are not playing stealth :D

I killed them all in the end by throwing a flash grenade into the middle of them, then sprinting and leaping into the middle and using Typhoon.

I usually just cheese that bit by going into a vent down to the lowest floor, and cloaking the rest of the way.

I haven't ever played for such a long stretch of time before, nearly 17 hours, and I could have easily carried on. The funny thing is that I put it down after a couple of hours of play about a week ago. I liked it, but I guess I hadn't got to grips with everything then. Love the well implemented npc model physics, the way they fall to the ground has been rather well done. Twenty eight hours so far, can't wait for the rest. :D

Got through the opening chapter ok although I couldn't find the hostages.. Got them in the end though. Kind of reminds me of the original Splinter cell but without the distraction gimmicks.

One question, I've noted when in cover, you see no cross-hair for the firearms. In this case the dart rifle. Not that easy as it switches to third person perspective. Anything I've missed. It says on in control panel?

Nothing missed, you need to add a red dot sight to see where you are aiming from cover(or a scope)

WHile holding your cover key, if you press walk forwards he will lean out and around. Then you can use your scope key to scope :) Bit fiddly if youve rebound all the keys like mine :/

Completed my first play through (a little over 40 hours).

Love the touches that we see in many games, the references to others in the series etc. As per usual, at the end of the game I always let the credits roll to see if there's any extra goodies, and the good news was there was a little something. :)

Very good game, slight shame about the Nvidia issues but it didn't cause any major problems. I'd rate it between 8 and 9 out of 10, maybe even as much as 9.5 in parts. I also will add that I managed to submerge myself more into the character than I expected - an undoubtedly particularly important aspect in a game like this. The developer has done the name Deus Ex justice with this offering. :)

Now, it's time for Rage.

I love this music in this game.

Aye, it's awesome and really has some power to it. I could listen to it for ages! :D

I still have to play the DLC, might have a go tonight. As I said before, the only thing that I hated about this game was the ending(s). Felt robbed!

Trying to get through a playthrough on stealth only.. Does anyone know if using the Gas grenades goes against the pacifist achievement?

Cheers

edit - also, at what point does the achievement come into effect.

I killed a few enemies during the inistail Sarif industries attack.. Only switching to pacifist when given the option on the first chopper run.??

I think it's too late for me

edit 2 - yep

"This achievement starts from the first moment of the game, when Adam Jensen is not yet augmented; killing anyone in the Prologue chapter will lock out this achievement. "
