*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

The one simple test for whether or not they bothered to fix bugs between that preview build and the released version will be the Markers. You could place them but never remove them and considering how useless they seemed to be it'll be very low on priorites.

Was that the markers to track people on your mini map? I hope they've fixed things like that! Lol. Given it was only a preview ;)

I can't believe we're talking about 20+ hours of gameplay with this, it's such a rarity now in FPS games!

Think they were different. There were markers that you could place on people which showed the distance and put a big arrow over the heads that you could see through walls, can't remember if they stayed on the edge of the screen or showed on minimap.

I never really found a use for them, but they couldn't be removed so you'd be stuck tagging some random unconscious guy half a mission back.

I am just wondering, do the owners of the VPN get to see my personal info, such as card details?

NO ;) with VyPRVPN all that changes is your ip address

basically they have a server, your real ip its that server say in the USA and it bounces a new ip address out to the web ;)

Going to download then and if it's good I'll pick it up at a latter date............

Are you kidding me? :D This is a game I'll happily pay retail for to show my support. ^^

I normally wait until games have been patched and work properly but this is one that even I have pre-ordered. Looks really good. They've spent a long time on it and the signs so far are very good.

"There is perhaps no greater proof that this is a role-playing game, however, than the ability to conclude just about every conversation by punching your quest giver into an unconscious rag doll." - joystiq review

made me giggle

Ah yeah. That would be annoying. Definitely sounds like a bug.

I'm really excited for this now. Played the leak completely yesterday, took me a good few hours, since I did all the side missions and fully explored everything. I got a great sense of achievement doing all the side missions, really rewarding.

As insightful as some reviewers might be, the fact they can give high praise to something like Dragon Age 2 for fear of the backlash makes there opinions worth nothing. User reviews should be the way to go, at least, ones that are given in a couple of days time, not ones that give it 0 or 10 within minutes of 'playing'.

Still, if the preview is anything to go by it shouldn't disappoint.

Finally pre-ordered my augmented edition. Wanted the extras quite badly (yes I'm sad - but I love the first Deus Ex game) and didn't want to miss out, especially since the augmented edition has been selling out fast. Can't wait to read the motion comic book lol.:p

Your not sad mate, I feel the same way :p I cancelled my steam pre-order and ordered aug edition retail to get the extras myself.

Probably my most eagerly waited game of all time i am so glad it didn't get messed up....anyone know if it's possible to cancel normal steam pre order and get augmented off there? what would i have to do?

Hey Sycho, check your inbox mate :)

Fully intending to pick this up on release and soooo tempted to preorder on Steam right this instant, but as the last of a dying breed I'm mighty tempted to wait a pick up a physical copy in town come Friday - yes, I know it's Steamworks, but it's Deus Ex; gotta be worth some shelf-space!

So is this a console port or a proper Pc version?

Does it really matter that much? It looks like a good game judging from the leaked preview and the reviews.

The performance of the preview was pretty good overall. And it does have DX11 support. More and more often, a lot of the current games being designed on PC for the consoles, then ported over the console.
