*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Review marks are good but to be honest I'm not really excited or wanting to play it at the moment, with all the games showcased at gamescon etc I just feel a resounding "meh".

I'll keep a close eye on it, see what people think, but watching the videos I just can't feel impressed .

It would appear most of these reviews are XBOX360 reviews or PC reviews which are not revealing the whole truth, IGN (Not the best reviewer i know) is refusing to review the PC version due to the amount of crashes/broken mechanics in the review code they were given.

They're planning to review the retail version on Steam tonight.

To be honest, IGN are inept.

Some how it crashes and breaks for them but the leaked build was nearly perfect? PEBKAC.

I'm going to get this later in the year or maybe next year. I still have to finish The Witcher 2, and then I will play Rage and Skyrim before this. Not sure why, just not really stoked about playing this game for some reason, but it does look good based on reviews.

I didn't play the original and I've read absolutely nothing into the new one so I'm going into it with absolutely no expectations. I'll take it for what it is.

Oh and Dees ex was pretty damn good. Stealhty, full out attack, back door, front door, so many ways you could investigate her. SHe would let you do anything. Pretty unique

lucky you cause you cant fail to be dissaponted and wont compare the games when playing.

I think people who never played deux es 1 enjoyed deus ex 2 as they didnt have anything to compare it with.

As much as they are inept, i would cast some doubt that this was a "Leaked" build, this has now become the new marketing stunt the same with betas. As some one who has worked in the industry it's amazing how many times a section of the game is branched off and polished to show to the public.

Some fixes will make it over and some are just canned as they wont work in the main branch.

A leak gets far more attention than a demo does these days and there are far to many leaks for the security thats in place...

I like this from the IGN review:

Practically demanding multiple playthroughs, Human Revolution will take you anywhere from 25 to 40 hours on your initial run.

Double figures of gameplay time! Eidos Montreal had a lot of live up to with this, and they might have actually done it ;)

Probably my most eagerly waited game of all time i am so glad it didn't get messed up....anyone know if it's possible to cancel normal steam pre order and get augmented off there? what would i have to do?
