*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Only played an hour and a half so far but getting bored of copy n paste generic labs and warehouse sections, still getting a lot of disc/CPU lag and I'm playing it on a reasonable spec PC and tried playing from both mechanical RAID and SSD without any change in performance, the stuttering when it kicks in breaks the immersion.

Has potential but I wish they'd either gone for iron sights or cover system and not some half arsed hybrid of both thats just clumsy to play.

Clumsy gunplay and cover? You'd have to be the clumsy one not to cope with it, it's so simple. Seriously? Right click and move against cover, space to jump gaps, movement keys to pop out.

Is that clumsy to you? Mreh I honestly can't see it being too different from splinter cell systems.

As usual, Play failed to deliver for release date :(

Probably gonna be Tuesday before I can play this now.

It's ok, you can play it vicariously through us. You tell us which direction to go and what to do (like the text based games of old) and we'll tell you what's happening. It's almost like playing it yourself!! :D

Why would you pre-order from Play, the last game I pre-ordered from them never arrived and I had to claim it as lost and get a refund.

Shopto is where it's at for pre-orders.

Stop trolling. Everyone knows a computer of that spec would struggle to run on medium :D

The funny thing is if I try and lower settings the game drops to desktop telling me I've run out of memory - work that out (it's been reported by quite a few people on steam forums)! :D

And stop trolling! ;)

I'd have to agree, once you get used to the cover system it's more than playable.

I actually like the fact that guns are stupidly accurate at range, you can't be trigger happy you need to burst.

I think too many people are used to the ridiculous accuracy of games like CoD.

Got this shipped from Lovefilm yesterday. Only just started LA Noire but fortunately me and my flatmate share an account so we can swap once we're both finished. Looking forward to it, and was surprised to get it so quickly from Lovefilm!

What graphics driver are you using, Rroff? Have you tried a different one?

Even then with the upgrades for guns isn't it deadly accurate anyway? ;]

Please treat me as an idiot I have not seen any footage of this game.

Does the view switch to third person when you do things like hug walls?

I really cannot abide this "gears of war" imitating style thats creeping into every other game thats coming out.

Yes I know there were other games that did it before GOW, but it was GOW that really popularised it.

Personally I reckon that while having to suffer being compared to the original, having pretty mediocre graphics and being a console semi-port, they haven't done a bad job.

Red dot on my pistol with silencer makes it one head-shot kill, in silence, perfect!

And when it comes to automatic weapons you can buy augs' to reduce recoil of course!

Damn, I overstated how annoying it is its just somewhat irritating.

I think to a pc gamer used to fps games that don't intervene from the fps view it is simply irksome.

Agreed.

It's definitely worthy of a purchase and play through.

The original, whilst great, is rose tinted glasses territory.
