*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Need opinions on system specs, I haven't played a game on release in full graphics since MW2 which is something like two years ago now :/

With this:
E6600
ATI HD4870
4GB RAM
I have a 60GB Agility 3 SSD if that changes anything

Am I better off just getting the game on PS3 or can I get something decent out of it on PC? I can't afford to upgrade the PC just yet, that will be something for Christmas time-ish :/
For some reason nobody releases game demos any more so I can't just go out and test it :(

Having some serious graphical issues. Cannot play the game. :(
Any suggestions? I have the latest graphics drivers and directx. My GPU isn't amazing but I think it surpasses the minimum required graphics card.

X1950 Pro
Intel Core 2 Duo 6300
2GB Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

This is what I get immediately after the first cut-scenes.

Note the disembodied eyes.

it will be driver problem I bet but ATI/AMD no longer update them for x1950 pro u could get a realy cheap 6450 for 40 or 6500 which will run 10x time better in almost everything.
Its not always the spec sometimes its a driver support that more important

Pretty sure I saw similar foggy weirdness to that in Witcher 2 when trying to force either AA/AF or vsync via CCC, maybe try switching all of those off?

im going to have another go once my pc decides to finish updating windows as it keeps alt-tabbing itself whilst it updates, Stupid SP1 for windows7 takes bloody ages :(

Not the only one getting the alt-tab thing am i. No updating on my machine but it decides to alt-tab whenever it chooses. Not that often but the fact it does it is a tad annoying.

Game completed.

Very impressed overall, captured some of the originals magic quite well.

So for those who have also finished it... what was your moral choice ;)

I went for Tags.

I'm loving the Reflex Booster. 3 enemies, 1 patrolling 2 chatting face to face. Let the patrol pass, shoot the ground ahead of the 2 talking with a silenced pistol, impact makes them turn to face it away from me. Walk up behind them and use Reflex Booster to takedown both at once, swap to Stun Gun and shoot the 3rd in the back of the head. 165 exp in 5 seconds.

I'm really looking forward to trying out a stealth assassin playthrough. Fully upgraded pistol, Cloak maxed, run/walk silent maxed, some serious pew-pew potential.

I took the neutral choice and got my achiev for not killing anyone other than bosses

I.e. Big boom no transmission? :D

I did consider that, but I wussed out. As for the killing... I broke that rule as I didn't have a stun gun for the entire game. I did try knock out where possible though, but the good old pistol got 90% of my gun action. I regret not having that pulse handgun for the entire game, had a try in the last level and it was pretty cool, didn't know it was like a force gun.

Completed it yesterday. Did all 4 endings to.

Decent game, endings were abit naff leaving a lot of questions unanswered, the entire last act altogther was abit 'meh'. I would also like an option to play through the game again with all my augments but alas it ain't there:/
Art style is great but the graphics are abit of a let down imo.

Just finished now, I naturally went with Sarif's ending - Taggart and the illuminati can go **** themselves :p was considering Darrow's ending as it seemed the most moral of them all.

Blown away by the game, feels like a lot of love went into it.
Hope to see more from Eidos! think i'll crack on with the first Deus ex as I never got round to finishing that.

One thing I find intriguing, seems a lot of the maps they took a small part from one of the original game levels - can be as simple as a corner in a corridor or just the layout of one room - and built a whole new map around it. Loads of little nods to the original game some more obvious than others.
