Grenade launcher for 2nd to final boss, 3 shots + emp nade = Win

:p

I used pistol for the entire game pretty much, dam thing is like a sniper rifle when fully upgraded!

The games good, however is anybody else getting stuttering???

i get 60+ fps then suddenly when it see's something new i.e a wall my fps drops down to aorund 27-30 fps, anybody else get this and has anybody found a fix to this problem?

i have it too and its putting me off the game quite a bit :( i first noticed it when i got in a elevator, i think its just happening as it loads new areas because it seems to always happen in the same places when im walking around the city area

people on the steam forum and gamefaqs forums have also been complaining about it but so far there doesnt seem to be a fix that works for me

I don't get stuttering but momentary slowdowns. I played it for quite a few hours yesterday and it played perfectly but I did notice it downloaded a patch when I closed it down last night so perhaps that introduced the slowdown. Saying that I did just enter China so perhaps it's an issue associated with that, not sure. Pretty gay though

Found a place where its possible to get stuck lol little cubby hole near an elevator in the pangu your supposed to use the strength upgrade to move a large box to get into it but I found a way to use the nearby tool storage thing to hop up onto it, theres one smaller box you can use to get out inside but if you chuck that out without either the jump or strength upgrades your stuck lol... which leads me onto the next bit, by carefully getting the smaller box out and yourself you can get into a nearby vent (to the tranq rifle) that normally needs the jump upgrade :D (or the strength upgrade to move the bigger box to get the smaller one).

Nothing at all like the first deus ex then? :p

That pistol was badass... but couldn't be silenced :(

The pistol in this game when upgraded reminds me so much of the Silverballer from Hitman: Blood Money.

Apologies if this has been answered - but I have the retail augmented edition... how do I access the ingame bonus stuff (10,000 Credits, etc)?

The pistol (with silencer) is straight up Bond, which is fine by me, I'm using it far more than I would otherwise.

The variety is one of the main reasons I'm enjoying the game so much. I have no specific philosophy to stick to, so sometimes I feel like being the spy with the silenced pistol, sometimes I feel like sniping from afar, and sometimes I feel like punching a dude square in the face.

The only certainty is that enemies probably going to die if they run into me, if for no other reason than I don't have the inventory space to carry non lethal weapons.

It's a seperate download from within the tools section of Steam.

EDIT

It's that way for the Steam version anyway, not sure if it's the same for retail, I'd imagine it would be since it's Steamworks so either way you're just activating a cd key.

You should have an extra code on a seperate piece of paper (not the Square Enix community thing, though). Redeem that to get the bonus content.

Done that... and it shows the pre-order bonus under DLC... but nothing in the actual game?

/edit

Ignore -read the leaflet you get them at different times in the game... DOH

+1, loads of different ways to do the few missions i have done so far. I'm stealthy with hacking mainly.
Just infiltrated the warehouse and gone down in the elevator. Really loving it. Still haven't killed anyone:D Not fought a boss yet either.

A small thing which i think is a great touch and something you won't find in other games. Just picked up a Nuke worm, it is a physical object that you have to pick up and keep in your inventory, how many games would just have added it into the options when hacking.:p (not a big deal, but something i noticed)

btw, how has everyone got their controls? first thing i did was change mine so that right mouse is ironsight and one of my mouse side buttons is cover. Anyone else changed theirs? I found it a bit clunky on default

Am quite enjoying the game so far. Haven't got very far, though - have only done the first major mission and a side-quest (the neuropozyne theft one). Currently doing the side-quest you get from Megan's mother after leaving the Sarif Industries building for the first time. I can definitely see this game taking me a while seeing as I'm already 7 hours in without having accomplished much!

I get a little bit of stuttering while wondering around the town (not all the time - mostly when I turn quickly and start heading towards a different area [I also get a tiny bit of tearing in such instances, but not enough to bother with vsync]). Otherwise, I'm getting about 70fps average with all the bells and whistles on at 1680x1050, with highs of mid-90s when in less demanding areas.

Yeah, I always change my controls. I use Alt for walking, C for crouch (can't actually remember if it was on C or on CTRL by default, though), Q for cover. I also changed the quick-menu buttons. I changed a few other things around as well to feel more natural to me.

This game can be quite funny. I kind of bungled the police station level by basically killing all of the police in and outside. Is this going to be problem or do I need to do it again?

Its pretty weird that David Sarif doesn't seem to care that I have just taken down the entire Detroit Police Department.

Played quite a few hours so far - tho not the whole game - and there doesn't seem to be any consequences for doing stuff like that. In a slightly less charitable moment I gave someone 2000 credits to get info from them, then shot them in the head and took my money back without it seeming to affect the game in anyway.

It's definately a funny game.

Some of it unintentional, I've found it impossible not to laugh at some of the dumb stuff the AI has done so far. On the other hand the easter eggs are great, touches like some of the screens I've seen so far do make it easier to like the game.

There's other things that are funny but I'm not quite sure if that's intended. For example it's hard not to laugh at the comments made by the bad guys as they're searching for you when half a second later you pop out and put one in the skull. I say I'm not quite sure because Splinter Cell Conviction (also a Ubisoft game) did the exact same thing. If I were the developers I'd claim the humour was intended there, because it certainly doesn't work on any other level :p.

I did the exact same thing (well lethal takedown in my case).

It's the games fault, in very few other games would the thought process move so quickly from I wonder if I can get my money back, to I'm going to kill this guy and get my money back :D.

I did the exact same thing, before i knew it i was in the lobby (didn't recognise it, had only been in there for a few seconds at the start of the mission) and i had killed every cop in the place aswell as the guy behind the desk that i was supposed to talk to. The only issue i came up with was i never found the key for the vault in the police storage area. But you don't need it to complete the mission anyway.
