****Official Doom 4 Thread****

I'm missing so many secrets though! Clearly not looking hard enough, went through a level that had 5 or 6 in and didn't find a single one!

I'm the same. I think it's probably because I've gotton used to games where a simple sloped ground means turn back. And whilst Doom is letting me jump pretty far, I sometimes still find me trying to clamber over something simple (like the fences in hell) and it won't let me so I lose interest in exploring a little bit.

Not really bothered about all the weapon/armour/health upgrades, my tokens are accumilating, maybe I should spend them.

Apart from that, I think it's great it so far - loved the last level I did where you go all the way up the tower, my vertigo really did start to kick in near the top!

Story spoilers:
Did anyone else feel that it ended a bit abruptly? I like how it's left open-ended, I just thought there's be a bit 'more' of an ending. Fingers crossed a follow up is announced soon... I hate cliffhangers! :D

He downloaded Vega onto a thumb drive (in seconds ) and did nothing with it, so pretty sure that will come into play in the next game. I was expecting to fight that robot guy, didn't even know that spider was the last boss as it seemed too easy. I guess he will be the bad guy in the next game we will have to fight at the end.

I don't complete many games. Completed this one.

this is one of the few games that i HAVEN'T completed, it's brain numbingly boring.............give me something like the ``Evil Within``, something truly scary that really disturbs me.

because DOOM is just childish; it's a light weight kiddies arcade shooter it has no character, no concept of what Hell might be like, it is like looking inside an empty cardboard box because this is the most boring game i've played in the last 2 years.

it's what the fans wanted, but flipping heck it's rubbish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's rubbish. It may not be the deepest game, but it has the best combat of any recent game I can remember, and it achieves exactly what it says on the tin. The fact that this brand of tin isn't your preference is irrelevant. I've probably had twenty hours out of this and loved it, but it will never rack up the game time I have put into some other titles.

I've just finished the campaign on HMP and want to do it again on the next difficulty. I thought all the weapon/armour unlocks would carry over but this doesn't seem to be the case?

Am I doing something wrong?

No stutters here.

I'm a bit miffed at what now MUST be the last boss(es). There's one big mofo who took ages to kill. Then 2 slightly smaller mofos emerged?

This game is harsh.

IIRC when you select your campaign slot you should then be able to select a unit from there as an option instead of resuming from your last checkpoint - think you can then change difficulty and select the first unit again.

Ahh so you don't start a new campaign then.

Cheers

I got doom last night and I am really enjoying it.

However (and I know it's not the most important aspect of the game) I was pretty disappointed in the graphics if I am being honest. It felt like a 4 or 5 year old game. It's a 2016 title! I had everything ramped up to the max and it was silly smooth. But God those textures even remotely close up looked terrible. I'm sure as I get more into the game I won't mind so much but just sharing initial thoughts. I mean, this game has come out long after GTAV and yet feels more like half life 2 graphically. What are other people's thoughts about this graphics?
