Pudge is also John Prescott, because he's fat and packs a punch :D

Back home for one night and folded to pressure (internal) and logged in.

After the pick I was dreading it. We had Axe, Timber, Morph, Venom and I had Pudge. Didn't think we had the carry but nailed them. Went 16/2 with Pudge and mauled anything that moved. We took longer to finish without a real good carry (Morph struggled a lot) but they couldn't win team fights with the amount if tank we had.

Still hate dota though :p:D

Is captains mode/draft any good in ranked? I seem to be stuck in a bum tier and even if I do end up picking the only support... the carrys cant carry lol. So I was thinking maybe people who know what they are doing play these modes? I could be very wrong but wanted to ask before I try.

Problem with CD/CM in our trench tier is even if the captain picks a good draft, most of the players have a very limited pool of heroes they can play well, so they just end up feeding or calling GG on the draft.
 
I generally have a better time in CM. At least you don't get all the OP flavour of the month heroes like Terrorblade
 
I exclusively play CM/CD, it can be interesting at times with some of the less experienced captains, but in general I find it much more paletable than AP.

This is from a 2.8k viewpoint.

It has it's own problems mentioned above but in general it is more mature than all pick.
 
Well I've been trying CM this morning and it's full of just as many idiots as All Pick

Game 1 - Captain DC's so we get 4 random picks and lose very quickly
Game 2 - Our draft is Lone Druid, SK, Omni, Nature's Prophet and...some mid. Lone Druid jungles leaving SK and Omni alone in lane.


Just so many ******* stupid people out there. Still think the most consistently non stompy game mode is Single Draft. At least there's more chance you won't get a coordinated opposing team.

I used to think CM is better. It's not. Whoever the captain is, whether that's you or someone else, will get flamed constantly. If something goes wrong, it's always the draft and subsequently the captains fault. "Oh I fed like a retard, captains fault **** picks!"

From my randoming adventures it appears my worst role is safelane carry. Lost as spectre, and lost as alch. Any time I get mid/offlane/support I win though. Try randoming in all pick Shami. Current w/r is W:24 L:2

There;s just too many heroes I'm not familiar with enough to play them. I prefer Single because it gives me a little wiggle room.
 
I prefer random draft, you can try and counter pick slightly and more often that not it's your own/teams fault for not picking the correct heroes to go up against the opposition lineup.

Single draft is ok but I haven't played it nearly as much as RD.

Single draft is only available in unranked right? So randoming will allow you to play heroes that you're not comfortable with and allow you to try them out. It's unranked anyway so who cares if you lose?
