Where am I complaining about sucking?

to be fair buddy it seems like that teejay73 and atlas2 are going to be playing a few bot games to learn a few things, why don't you get involved with that? if reading a manual isn't your thing then see if you can make some friends who can help show you the ropes

might be the easier option for yourself :)

I'm reading the guide now, although to be fair so far it's not really told me much other than common sense stuff ("don't die", "kill creeps for gold/exp").

I've got a friend that's been playing daily since Dota 2 beta was first available (closed beta?) and he's been telling me stuff and has said he'll help show me the ropes.

I suspect there's only so much you can learn from playing against bots as I doubt they really behave like human players and it's much harder to communicate with them.
But I always get nervous when playing games online (CoD, BF4, Planetside 2, Left 4 Dead, TF2, various MMOs) as you always get people that take these things too seriously and think they're really awesome because they do OK in the circles they play in. I was also aware that MOBA games (mainly LoL) seem to be especially bad.
I usually turn out to be about mid-table in most, so not as bad as I expect myself to be. At some point you just need to take that leap!

too right! don't get what happens to me and get "ladder anxiety". where you basically don't want to play any game against human opponents like in SC2, LoL, HoN, Dota 2, WoW arena etc etc... it just makes you hate the game all the more when you lose :p

It's tough for other people to show you really. Unless they're willing to coach you in games it's difficult to watch you and concentrate on whatever they're doing.

And yeah bots are good for trying heroes out for the first time and getting the general mechanics down but you learn a lot more from human matches even if they can be more brutal.

Didn't say that.
I was just trying to join in.
Not every post on this forum is someone asking for help!

Now, you still haven't shown me where I was asking for a solution...

Hey man, this might be a bit invasive but I've added you on Steam (I THINK!) and me and teejay are gonna get some bot games, using TS3, if you wanna join in? Can give you some pointers if it helps you out! :)

It was a post on a public forum, if you didn't want discussion what did you want? I don't know why you're being so weird about this

I got like that in most of the UFC games on the XBOX 360. Got so nervous playing ranked games in case I lost that I a barely played any after getting 50 wins for the achievment (or whatever it was).

Yeah, I think there are several times when I've escaped from the bots that human players would chase me down (or wouldn't have let me go at all).
As I understand it, in theory, I should be picked in matches against people of a similar rank/level, so shouldn't have to face teams like Vici Gaming straight away!
Doesn't mean they won't be more experienced (and quite possibly just more skilled) though. I guess at some point I'll have to just suck it and see. I can always jump ship to LoL if the hate gets too bad (I have a friend that plays that too, think I mentioned that earlier). Or just stop playing MOBA games, I've managed this long without them after all!

Not to be told to uninstall the game might have been a nice start! And you wonder why I'm being weird!
I make a fair few posts on this forum, but they're not all requesting a solution to a problem. I was just making myself known.

The toughest thing is to avoid the grief from teammates while learning (not that the grief or the learning ever stop really :p) It's a rewarding game but the community and occasionally just the luck of the draw can really make you question why you do it sometimes!

I wouldn't take any advice from Shami anyway. He force staffed a team member up onto the cliff earlier and then the whole team had to go up there to help :(

He should read the guide to learn how to play.

Quick question, still doing the training games against people with limited pick, how do you know at the start who is carry/support etc? I see the icons in game when I get killed but not when I initially pick.
