*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

It's a difficult game , it has a huge learning curve. If you can't be bothered to sit down for 20 mins and read a basics guide then you are just going to **** off the other 4 people on your team. Frankly if you're not going to make an effort then there are other games for you.

Just because you probably rage at noobs on Dota doesn't mean you have the authority to decide which games are 'right' for certain people.

Any muppet can play, learn and enjoy a MOBA, which is why tens of millions of them are playing these games.

I don't rage at noobs thanks. Nor do I think I'm an expert in any way. You're right, any muppet can play and enjoy a MOBA. Which is why MOBA communities are some of the worst gaming communities around.

To be fair mate, you raged at me because I refused your help. And then I got just as angry at you, because you had this self-righteous rant about how you're only trying to help... when I didn't ask for your help, haha.

Ah yes I remember you now. There is nothing wrong with being bad at the game, but when you start raging at people trying to help you then why on earth would I want to play with you? You acted like a complete ****. You clearly came in with a huge chip on your shoulder. Thankfully you're the only person I've had to play with that acted like that.

Not really. I was perfectly fine until you started offering opinions, that in all fairness, weren't good. You got the impression I was new, although I told you I had played the original DotA and HoN (which is practically a clone) and I was picking the game up pretty quickly. I'd dare say I could play the game as well, if not better than you anyway...

I didn't come in with a huge chip on my shoulder. It grew pretty quickly though when you got your panties in a twist over the fact I kept telling you I didn't need help, haha.

I think I was involved in this match I might go back and try and watch it.

Yes you sound like a completely level headed calm guy :D

Oh wait, I remember the game now! You complained you couldn't lane anywhere because you were getting harassed so much as Phantom Lancer, in a game where you died zero times and have one of the best escapes in the game at that level of play. That was absolutely hilarious :D Doubly hilarious because I was Dazzle and kept healing you :D

Picks Dazzle and hangs by the tower, doesn't harass, doesn't pull and heals the creep wave to kill the other. Best support eu. And you wonder why I complained. I like that in your mind the carry just has to survive and that's how you win a game... getting farm = not really a priority. This is why anybody should have a hard time taking your advice. You're telling others how to play when you evidently can't yourself :D

Also you realise that "one of the best escapes in the game" is countered by dust, sentries or a gem? haha... jeez.

As someone that learns far quicker through doing or watching things than i ever have by theory and reading, reading a guide is pretty much useless to me, to have the stance that if you don't read it you shouldn't play the game is pretty narrowminded.

Everyone learns best via different methods, I prefer to play or watch games, i learn things far quicker that way, if that annoys some people in the process then that's their own damn fault for being bad enough to be in my skill bracket.

I love how you've claimed you don't have a chip in your shoulder yet you want to dredge this all up :)

doesn't pull and heals the creep wave to kill the other. This is a contradiction. One pushes the wave, the other pulls it, which do you want?

I like that in your mind the carry just has to survive and that's how you win a game... getting farm = not really a priority Not at all, but I don't start getting my panties in a twist if you don't have your first big item by 6 mins. We were winning the game easily, you hadn't died a single time in lane yet you got all angsty and started raging.

Also you realise that "one of the best escapes in the game" is countered by dust, sentries or a gem? haha... jeez.
So we can add reading to the things you aren't very good at can we? as you'll see if you try it again I said AT THAT LEVEL. In lane it is highly unlikely anyone will have gem or sentry wards and basically 0% chance someone will have a flipping gem.

As a late game carry if you're throwing a wobbly when you haven't died once in the laning phase and the team is ahead then you're doing something wrong.

Tbh I think the most important thing you can do as a carry is just not die and farm whenever you can in lane.

Shami is right btw, you said most people are around 2k-2.5k mmr that talk in here so I presume you are as well around there? People won't really have dust/sentries in the laning phase.

There's a difference between correcting you and having a chip buddy. If I had a chip on my shoulder, I'd probably think about getting a new steam account/identity and worming my way into your games to abandon them and just ruin them for you. But hell, I'm not that petty.

I'm not gonna bother with the fancy red writing because I can't be bothered edit my post but hell, if you want to discuss it... let's do just that!

I think you missed my point. I didn't want you to heal the wave... it kills the creep waves and negates farm for the carry. The fact you weren't harassing to bully out the other MELEE offlane meant that you had to heal... which in turn meant that you had to steal creep kills, that the carry needed priority on. The fact you also didn't pull the wave when it got close to their tower--and you still remained insistent on your "hanging back and healing the wave" routine, meant you made it very hard to garner creep kills. Thus stopping the carry doing their job for the first 15-20 minutes of the game, haha.

Just to follow up on the other points, to further stress how little you get the point...

1. "At that level"? That actually means nothing. I play at that level, if I know to buy wards or whatever to counter PL... other people do as well. Don't be stupid.

2. I remember I never actually brought into question your ability to support, but I did get annoyed because by 20 minutes I wasn't where I needed to be on PL... Winning or not, it doesn't matter. If you're having a bad game because the person who was supposed to be supporting you is doing a poor job, you're going to get frustrated.

Doesn't matter if you've died 0 times, or 11 times. If the carry doesn't get farm and isn't ability to y'know... CARRY... it's frustrating. And your entire excuse for your bad supporting at the moment seems to be "It's fine, I play at such a bad MMR or whatever that you can get away with that".

Which would probably explain why you play at a bad level, constantly.

Aha, ok I'm going to be the bigger man because you clearly just want to pick a fight at this point. How long have you been waiting to dredge this up? You're clearly just one of those selfish players who gets frustrated when they aren't as capable as they think they are and turns on their teammates. Good luck with that :)

You can't say you didn't get no farm because the other player in your lane is bad. I've watched players at 6k mmr play PL vs a dual offlane and be left alone by his support constantly and still be able to survive/get farm.

Shami does suck though. (:p)
