Someone who was 2.9k and bought a 4.4k MMR account because they were "stuck" below their skill level:

Note that even in the matches he wins, he never does well.

EDIT: I think "his" matches start 7 days ago, before that was the guy boosting it to 4.4k.

Only 74 games played in total?

More importantly why would someone buy/sell dota accounts?

Yeah, I think it was easy to get accounts to the required level for ranked during TI4 because of the point bonuses. The complete inability for the new user to compete at that level is still valid.

As for your second question, there's no shortage of people who care too much about unimportant things. :)

Righttt... I think I'll be around tomorrow, I've got a few new components to set up in my PC--but is anybody else gonna be around? I fancy a few games of Dota! Or maybe 1 really bad game of Dota and then a night of complaining about how much Musty fed the opposition.

I've seen D3xtr boosting accounts loads of times on his stream. Not sure what he charges for it, but I know he does it.

But yeah I guess people do it for money, why someone would pay for it I don't know, surely they just slide back down eventually.

Slanderous.

Just got back from Barca!

Man it was hot. However I will be up for some games over the coming nights (as the misses is going away tomorrow morning for a week)

DOTA!

Played my first game vs humans as invoker and didn't totally suck. 4/3/20 at the end, 3/0/6 at 10 minutes. Once I got more than 2 spells my brain couldn't cope anymore! :)

I must admit I struggle with invoker.

I tend to just set up three spells and run with it dependet on the point of the game. I either go tornado>meteor>shock wave thingy (forget its name) or I roll invisible and then hit them tornado>meteor from invis.

He's fun and amazing to see played well but he's a bit beyond me right now :p

Think I'm 4/0 or 4/1 wins with him but it was never me solo carrying a win.

So I dunno if Musty mentioned this or anything, but we came to the conclusion that we should probably have a few "training" sessions so we can nail some simple tactics, in a private lobby or something.

I think he was under the impression that it would be the usual characters who play with us (Musty, myself, newts, Bios, almostgfx, Westy... whoever else, I'm struggling to remembner!) would get involved and learn a few things. Then we'd all go into a TMM game or something and just practice our craft, see how we do!

You guys up for that?

Might be ideal to say we'd do it Saturday? As I think I'm away tonight and I don't know about the rest of your availability.

I had that with invoker but he's not as scary as he appears. Hard part isn't learning all the spells its learning when to use them and that probably just comes with experience. Itemisation on invoker is also quite difficult because you can go so many builds with him.

The most annoying part of my game was the other team had a Doom that seemed to have taken a dislike to me because of my early game actions... he wasn't wasting that aghanims doom on anyone else.

To be fair invoker's a pretty good doom target so you just have to be more wary of your positioning or get an orchid/linkens etc. All of which are counterable but doom is doom at the end of the day not much you can do if he has a hard on for you.

I've never played Invoker against people (only played the limited hero training matches against people, I'm 8-2 in that I believe), but I do struggle with the different spells.

I'm not sure how many points to put in the spell selector skill (can't recall the name) as I don't seem to switch too often (brain can't handle it). Although I sometimes wonder if I would if it had not mana cost and virtually no cool-down (with aghanims).

The other thing that get's me is that the skills shift right in the slots. What I mean is it'd be nice if you could select which skill you replace with the new one rather than it always being the 'D' skill and the previous 'D' becoming 'F'. For example, I like the flame pet spell, so wish I could keep that one all the time and just change the other one between meteor/sunstrike/etc.

He does look awesome though and I love the way you can use the 3 'orbs' to boost different stats and change it up based on the situation. Just wish I was good on him!

My last game last night our whole team got dismantled and I probably did worse than most. Got taken apart as Razor (2nd time I've played him) by a Sand King, Drow Ranger and Sniper (sometimes each one solo or sometimes Sniper and Drow Ranger together). they soon had a 5-10 level lead over me and most of my team. Not sure if we even took a tower. Didn't help any that people on both sides abandoned.
That game really did make me long for a 'GG' thing like they have in The International, as there really was no point us trying to defend our base against a number of significantly higher opponents that can just about 1-shot you. Luckily the other team didn't drag it out.
