Maybe thats because you haven't played the game very long. Its rare but it does happen and when it does it makes me glad that they don't have surrender option.
Also losing a T3 or Rax really isn't that bad...

It's beyond rare. I've had it twice in around 500 games (somewhere between 400 and 500 can't recall off the top of my head) and they were both as a team. Never once in a pub and I'm sure if you opened it up to everyone here they will show in a random pub it is beyond rare/never happening occurrence.

I'm not weighing in on the side of surrender, I don't play solo game now (around 10 in 8 weeks) but the truth is for solo players once you lose t3 and they are comfortably ahead (not talking one tower) that's it and you can guarantee at least one person will go FF and stand in racks making a difficult task impossible.

Not always. I've won a huge amount of games after losing a T3 and I've only played around 1.2k games.

So it isn't a beyond rare/never happening occurrence for me.

And plenty of people don't say go ff when you lose a T3 unless its a complete stomp, just the occasional person that gives up.

Well you've clearly landed in a nirvana where dota players all care and play for the team, I'm happy for you. Hopefully all the rest of the randoms will be as conscientious as the crowd you've landed with one day.

Maybe you are the problem. I never give up unless my team is constantly raging and afk in base, and its not even close to over when a T3 is lost so not sure why your teams are giving up at that point.

Only time teams seem to give up for me in solo queue is when we lose all 3 racks, and even then most still try. But maybe its different at your MMR.

I've played so many games where we've come back from 1/2 rax down, and they are the most enjoyable games by far. There would also be far more of them if some people didn't give up as soon as they lose a T3 tower.

The system is fine the way it is, and I think as people play more games and get more experience they start to realise that games aren't over until much later than they think.

I've won a few games against mega creeps before and they really are a lot of fun to pull off. I don't think they would happen nearly as much with a surrender feature.

I think this was the game I remember vs mega creeps - http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/498887336

Replay has expired so I can't make sure but I'm like 95% sure it was.

I don't give up unless it's pointless (a few nights ago 25/4 or something after 15mins with 5 towers down and a d/c) but clearly I just have the bad players

I can't help but admire how lucky you all are to get those conscientious players, you must all be very lucky.

Anyhoo atlas, musty, bios we still playing and practicing tonight? What time?

Waah waah waah, my team always sucks, the law of averages doesn't apply to me and I always get awful players who never do anything, any game I win is all because of me.

Where did I say that? You are so full of **** lol.

I merely pitched in saying I agreed with one aspect of what the chap above was saying that, in solo games, people tend to give up around t3 fall time if it's not a close game.

I personally don't care as I don't play solo anymore, if I don't have a team I'll just log out and go on another game. If you are going to be a pretentious **** at least be factually correct ;)

It ain't over til it over!

Play until the end, blinking tournament players all useless crying noobs!!!!

Get Elixir, Tune and Murray in, would have been a turnaround on mega creeps!

Its kind of embarrassing that you don't see the difference between that and what we are talking about it.

I dunno about that. I watched Murray abandon a game which was lost the other day :p

What?!?! But.... But.... My world is shattered :( after all that uplifting talk about not abandoning and how you should see it out and how only whining noobs abandon.... Wow my dreams are in peices now :(

When did I say any of that? I never even mentioned abandoning.

I said rarely do people give up just because you've lost a T3.
