*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I was watching that last game.
I did call it for you guys about 15 minutes before the end though (not that there was anyone here to hear me).
I was surprised they took your bottom tower though as 4 of the 5 of their team was doing nothing half the time. Broodmother was pushing top and they we're their own half most of the time. 4 of the 5 of you were trying to get broodmother and they weren't even in a lane!
I was worried if they pushed the bottom that you'd struggle to cover it in time.
When they finally did they got the tower, then they did nothing.
They also couldn't win a team fight, which didn't bode well for them. As long as you guys got 4+ in the same place you won most (if not all) fights. Took the edge off the excitement a bit but still a good win.

We all said post game that whilst we played well to stay in it for the win we were only it thanks to their deficiencies. Furion would never push when a split push would have killed us and their brood staying top was plain silly. Atlas' divine push after we wiped Brood was so nerve wracking :p

I think the worry was that at any time they could've won the game. If the Brood had tp'd top/bottom and Furion had gone into the opposite lane whilst the others attempted to bait a team fight... they would've just ratted us out of the game.

Still though... there's nothing like picking up a rapier and actually having it pay off! :D

I enjoyed that game.

Even whilst I played night stalker (a hero who I don't think I have played before) and didn't bring much to the game in terms of effectiveness I still had a blast.

Watching Chelsea myself, then I should be around for a game or two.

Also Musty, stop making out like you're the injured party here... all night on TS you compare me to the WoW player from South Park and make me out to be some person who exclusively eats lard.

Lol :D

Anyone on tonight? I might be on after Chelski game.

Ill be on.

Need to maximise the dota before the misses is home Friday.

going to squeeze a cheeky 15 mile road bike in after work then ill be on.

Wait ... you mean your not?

I'll be on too!
But I'm guessing that's of little interest to you guys...

I find I do enjoy watching Dota games more than just about any other game. One of the nice things is seeing new heroes you might not have tried (for a while anyway). Example being, I saw atlas (I think) playing Phantom Lancer and thought that he might be interesting to try (I need to play more melee characters).

I do enjoy watching close games more than games where one side is clearly dominant though. Although seeing games that look to be going one way turn around is fun too, but I don't see many of them, usually you can tell quite early on which team is likely to win.

Someone who was 2.9k and bought a 4.4k MMR account because they were "stuck" below their skill level:

Note that even in the matches he wins, he never does well.

EDIT: I think "his" matches start 7 days ago, before that was the guy boosting it to 4.4k.

He's played another 28 games since this post... managed to win 4 of them! Assuming they're all average +/-25 MMR, that's a 500 MMR drop in less than 2 days.

The highlight of these matches seems to be a 1/17/11 Nature's Prophet.
