Maybe I got a bit unlucky, perhaps you got a bit lucky. Presumably you're quite good too so might have only taken a couple games for you to leave behind the unwashed masses. It is quite bad down there.

Well if Dota buff is accurate he left the trenches after game number 2.

His first game he had 2nd highest GPM/XPM and tower damage.

His second game he had highest GPM/XPM and tower damage. 5 times more tower damage than anyone in his team and more tower damage than all his allies combined.

Very small sample size but no reason why he cannot maintain over 4k if his main is stable around there. His smurf might even enter a higher MMR after the initial 10 ranked games.

Am I right in saying that it's best to use point boosters on a new account to hit level 13 quicker?

Yeah I think it is. But the good ones are pretty expensive. I'm using the one thats on the dota 2 store and its still pretty slow.

That viper though. 5 man pub game and went 17/3. Only had the one other on my team which didn't need telling how to play but we basically carried everyone ha. He's a fun hero to play.

My first game using Tiny, he was a beast!

Also had a painful game where 3 of our side quit (before any towers were down). Just wanted that one ending quickly - it didn't

Had my first ranked match last, I decided to go with Viper as its a hero I know pretty well.

Did not start off great as in the lobby a guy over comms was giving me verbal regarding the amount of games I had won and that I should not be there. And considering he was on my team it did nothing for my mood!

In the end this guy came to bottom lane with me and I don't think I made any major screw ups as he seemed to cheer up and direct his opinion on our Doom who kept feeding.

Overall I don't think I did that bad even though we lost, still lots of things to improve on but I think I am starting to get the hang of this now, mainly my positional play has improved over the last few weeks which has stopped me feeding as much

Anyway here is a link to the match, like I said we lost and I'm sure I can improve on a lot of things but I'm pretty pleased overall.

Also you have 70 last hits in a 42 minute game. I can't stress how important last hitting is. You should have 70 last hits at 12 minutes not 42.

I do need to work on last hits as I know its a weak part of my game. I was also in the lane with Razor who did seem to take a lot of the last hits as he was a far better player.

Depending on how much you care about getting better. What I used to do for csing was just go into an empty lobby and pick lina. Don't use any nukes to get cs just your right click. Her animation is terrible, aim for 50cs by 10 minutes with her. Don't buy any items and don't put any points into stats.

If you want you can use viper instead.

You can see from the dotabuff game he is very inexperienced (not critising btw) we have all been there. He stills has a GG branch, tango and salve by the end of the game, has one big item completed plus a wraith band.

There is a bunch of stuff you need to learn about lane control/last hitting/item progression etc but it's most likely too much info to take in all at once. Also look at his team, that's pretty much 5 carrys right there, wouldn't surprise me if they had no courier for the first 10 minutes of the game.

Problem is they removed punishment for quitting limited hero mode for some reason and that has been the death of that, you have to go straight into all pick and the rest or face quitter oblivion

That's why I told him to do what I said. If you can get 50cs in 10 minutes against no competition with a hero with a crap animation then that is a good foundation. There isn't really a guide to last hitting.
