No I think what he means is, those playing in tournaments get an option for which patch version they want to use for the match and they then use that. Stops tournaments getting ruined by huge changes.

However, us the peons... we dont get that choice :p

I believe they have taken that mode out. Also, I don't think any tournament organiser would pass on the attention they would get from having one of the first pro matches played on a new patch unless it was something really big like a grand final.

And what I'm saying is that they don't get a choice.

No but they used to. It's broken. Go start a custom game and you will see the option there.

Unless they have taken it out. But if you Google it you should find previous info about it.

It isn't in the game anymore. So unless they add it back then its going straight to the latest version which its done the last few times.

Don't think anyone is arguing that won't be the case. Just I pointed out that they did have redundancy for this kind of thing in the past. It's a pretty cool feature to have, though I can understand why it might be hard to support.

Played 6 games on the test is client, map changes are interesting. Rosh is a lot more fair, easier to get vision etc. both ruins spawning should really encourage more supports to rotate and I can see offlane being able to sustain themselves with a bottle.

Really not sure what role Bloodseeker is supposed to be in now, don't really think he needs items to make an impact, maybe some mana regen but that's it. He feels like a support now, maybe offlane but probably wasted middle.

"Valve wouldn't update in the middle of a tournament" they said.
"It's thousands of dollars" they said.

Watched part of SingSing streaming his first game on the new patch. I didn't see the whole game so they may have won, but early on the new Bloodseeker skill seemed very strong, pure damage and silence in a huge AOE.

Dota 2 has lost 11% of its total playerbase the last couple of months Valve is starting to worry they dont care about some tournament.

Playerbase doesn't = $$$. The 11% might not have spent a penny on the game. I doubt they are worrying in the slightest.

Slightly dissapointment last night. After playing 6 game on the test client with 5 of those being with great teammates that all spoke English and ruthlessly went after the objectives, the supports actually supported etc. To then play my first game on the main client with some retarded eastern euros :/ 2nd game wasn't much better either, so much for tinker nerfs, was horrible trying to push back against him, NP and a luna.

Just needed some team play to actually shut him down early game, seeing as he can no longer catchup with ancient stacking. Solo queue with zero co-operation is damn frustrating.

This is still the most amazing game I've ever played. 30 years of gaming and nothing comes close to the emotions I've went through on this damn game. I actually thoroughly enjoy watching games when I'm not playing too. It's insane.

I got a friend started on it a month ago. He's since put about 200 hours in and is learning loads. Epic game
