*** Official Dota 2 Thread ***

I've signed up for plus for a month to see if I like it, I will then sign up for a year if I do :) no different from spending money on battle passes really so I have no issue with it. Just managed to make Legend 4 yesterday, I think I am almost at the peak of my skill level but I think I may be able to reach 5.

I am going to ESL in Birmingham and I can't wait should be awesome.

If you ever want a game give me a shout The IPB on steam, I mostly play with a friend and we would be happy to have someone else jump in so we can get some decent communication on the go :)

Wednesdays and Sundays pretty much always from around 8 we usually play.

Paid for the yearly Dota+ subscription as it worked out cheaper. Bought my tickets for ESL One Bham this morning too. Looking forward!

Have tried the DOTA reddit a few times now and not impressed. There's barely anything on there worth reading and I don't recall any strategy topics at all.

I found the same, I never ever found a "good" Dota community that was about tactics etc. Tends to just be spammy rubbish.

I played my first game in nigh on a year a few nights ago, I don't miss it, still a toxic hell hole :p within five minutes found myself irate as sin, finished the match (and won) but pretty happy I made the right decision to stop playing though I will still be watching the big tournaments.

How's everyone doing with calibration? Read a lot of horror stories about people dropping loads of MMR. I'm 9 games in, won 7 and lost 2, hoping for a decent jump up from Archon 0.

lost 4 won 3. I just give up with it, i'm not a great or bad player but i just can't deal with all the saltiness and feeding. People randoming in mmr and then not being able to play the hero. Think I'm going to end up ranked at guardian instead of archon.

I wont 7 lost 3 in the end and got Archon 2. Since then I keep getting uncalibrated in my games and lost 3 on the trot. Awful picks and non stop feeding. Quite frustrating.

Friend who I play with won 10 games as Spectre, got Immortal 1. Myself however, had some awful games and I've played 4 lost 3.

What's the best website/videos for tips on this for a bit of a novice? trying to get into this with a mate, but the community seems so toxic (and i play rainbow six which i thought was bad enough). I get all the general stuff to it like not feeding and stuff just looking to read up or watch some videos on specific heroes so i can practice which items to get first etc :)
