Official EA SPORTS FC 24 Thread

Man i hate this patch, game was somewhat average before it didnt allow people camping back in there box because of finesse shots etc now its literally camp back counter with 71 depth and either cutback goal or wait for someone to pull a defender which is rare in high divisions because people dont manually defend.
 
my icon packs have been pretty rubbish, Veron's 86, Rush and nedved. Hero picks have been alright but none have made the starting 11. i'm rocking this at the moment: https://www.futbin.com/24/squad/1553666
Slightly unique side i suppose! I really like Caicedo does really well and bennacer is great with quick 1-2s.
Not 100% on dybala really just doesnt dribble as well as stats would suggest.
Griezmann is ok, odd spectacular moment but Lukaku is out shining when it comes to goals. Still banging them in for me, finesse shots, low driven shots multiple headers just a beast of a player.
I dropped Kompany to the bench in frustration of him getting out jumped by Smith.

Pirlo might be the next one replaced, Bacha is better from set plays and despite his 5 star skills his lack of agility makes it pointless. Nearly 500 games with him now so he's done his bit.
 
I feel sorry my lad (8 yrs old). He plays in and around Div 7 and has accumulated enough fodder to do 3 icon packs and 1 hero. 87 Alonso, 86 Veron and this morning, 89 Shearer. Brutal! Then Morientes as the hero. He loves the game but doesn't have the time (or skill) to grind as much as the people he plays, they have ridiculous squads even in Div 7+. I just want him to get an end game icon!

Mine have been 88 Cech, 90 Pirlo, 87 Trezeguet and finally a usuable 91 Cafu.

So, I thought the patch would be good. But i dislike it more now. Its turned out to be a nerf for dribbling and shooting which was the last thing needed.

An 8 year old doesn’t have the time?! Or are you understandably limiting his time on consoles?

When I was 8 years old, I was playing StarFox or SF2 for hours/days on end. :cry:
 
3-7 in Playoffs again this week, luckily this bonus objective thing for scoring in rivals means I can have another stab at it. Just seems bonkers that I never get under 40% wins in WL but it happens fairly often in playoffs.

There's really very little correlation between division and cards, except on the extreme ends i.e. I assume Div10 has some brand new players with weak teams and Elite has some high end meta squads, but inbetween you'll find all sorts. Plenty of people smurfing in lower divs, plenty of weak players with good squads etc, indeed plenty good players with bang average squads.

The bottom half of rivals is really just a mixed bag of people in random divs I notice hardly any difference below div5.
 
I thought I'd try out Mbappe rather than sell him and he's absolutely crazy. Reminds me of FIFA 18/19 CR7, totally glitchy and broken.
 
Just packed gold VVD who will slot into my BPL team nicely - although this year is the first time I've ever packed Ronaldo (CR7 sadly!) - tradeable too, although he's not exactly expensive!

Still appalled by the tackling on this game tho - the number of times both human and AI players just walk through tackle after tackle is ridiculous - and even if I do win a tackle, my player stumbles and gives the ball right back to the opposition! :confused:

I packed VVD but think i prefer Maguire, I don#'t know if there's some bias in the decision. I still am not 100% on my starting 11, gets frustrating. Think i am fairly settled on playing 442 of some sort so either standard or 424. I have some decent CBs in the club, have Kompany, Vidic, Simakan, Maguire and VVD and seem to end up using Simakan and Maguire.
The players who always start for me are:
Schmeichel
Bacha
Griezemann POTM
Clauss 88 card
Simakan.

I have 170 goals in 195 games with Lukaku so he usually either starts or comes on at half time.

CMs i again have a good choice, Caicdedo and Bennacer Radioactive, Lahm, Pirlo, Sneijer and Veron. These are always swapping around, i have started the Zidanne SBC, i have done the 89 squad and the 88s so now just need to get the 'smaller' ones done. I will then do Roy Keane if hes an SBC during winter wild cards.
 
Bought some points online to use on the app. Still havent got them and its been 12 hours. Why does it take so much longer then on console? Everything is linked properly, the money has come out of my bank yet nothing. Happened a lot last year too.

Pretty sure you have to go on the console first, then log out and they’ll appear.
