*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

Is it just me, or is the official forum for ESO absolutely hideous. Why couldn't they leave it in the old style, like the singleplayer tes forums.

Anyway, seems like this is getting a fair amount of praise now.

Completely agree, the official forums are terrible.

The game is gaining momentum now. So many places, forums and people are praising this game like mad.

Yeah its much better than I expected, only complaint is the leveling feels REALLY slow. And I need a horse. Regretting not buying the imperial edition.

Ah that isn't so bad then. Once you buy the horse can you use it on all characters or do you need to buy it everytime? Because that makes buying the imperial edition almost a must.

I'm pretty sure you have to buy a horse for each character. As with all MMO's, once you have a higher level character bringing in the $$$, buying a basic mount for an alt will be trivial.

Can't send mail to alts though right? Or unless its just disabled for now.

A lot of people from DAoC are calling this DAoC 2. Think that speaks volumes

I personally wouldn't go quite as far as calling it Daoc 2, but you can absolutely see the Daoc influence in the game. Aspects of the game certainly have a Daoc feel to them and I would say the PvP is the closest to Daoc that I've seen.

It keeps reminding me of Ultima Online, for the very odd reason that you can pick stuff up and search cupboards and the like. It feels like a world, and not a carefully crafted themepark.

Ran Crow's Wood with three others last night, great fun. Even managed to get the group challenge achievement, although we've no idea what we did, we were bumbling around that thing that looks like a skyshard but isn't, it spawned a mob and then disappeared after we'd killed it. I love stuff like that, we wouldn't know how to do it again if we went back in :)

Im going to have to stop searching all the sacks & crates as Im getting nowhere fast. I'm running back to town every 10mins to sell the junk or empty my bags into the bank and that now full. :D

Bank expansion is very expensive too

Can someone explain Cyrodiil to me please!

New to this MMO lark and just hit level 10. I have no friends to play with so completely solo. Does this mean I'll just get smashed as soon as I enter?

Also, where are all these group quests people are talking about? Is there a way to team up with other loners such as myself?

Best advice is to get yourself a guild, PvP (especially RvR) is a very dangerous place for the solo player. there should be a list of peeps you can add to friends list / guild listing in the first post of the thread.

You wont get smashed as soon as you enter, but you will find it very difficult to move around Cyrodiil without getting repeatedly killed and what you can do there will be quite limited. As Newbie says, I'd find a guild if I was you so that you can partake of some larger scale fun :)

When I'm not crashing it is very enjoyable. I love the siege weapons and having 3 alliances really brings a new dynamic to the PvP in comparison to most large scale PvP I've played in the last 5 years.

Really hoping that as the game gets older the players get less stupid and that my guild actually starts doing PvP. At the moment thee are too many idiots around who are struggling to understand how to fight in a three faction war, especially when the Pact are regularly outnumbered. Saw an absolute gem on the /zone chat last night in Cyrodil "The covenant are too strong for us, let's take out the dominion as they have less players". Tried to teach him/her that the whole point of 3 faction AvA is that the two weaker sides should gang up on the stronger not fight each other but ofcourse nobody wanted to listen to common sense.

What faction are you? If you're in the Pact I'll be happy to join you in Cyrodil.
