*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

Just read up on this dupe issue, unbelievably how badly they have handeled this, they pretty much ignored it till it's to late this will be just another big nail in the coffin.

Never get why asses need to cheat in a game, but by eso being told and taken no action literally for months shows how little they actually care about the game versus the money they were rushing to get their hands on.

I bet very few if any ever get banned!

Ban waves for the dupers. :)

Official response:

Hi folks,

We're trying to get the word out about the action we took today, in regards to this issue. Here's what we've posted in a few other threads:

Yesterday, we identified an item duping bug in ESO that some players chose to exploit. We acted quickly, and have since fixed the issue. We have banned the game account(s) for those who abused the exploit.

We want to thank everyone who reported this issue to us. In the future, should you identify what you think could be an exploitable bug, please send it to us in-game via /help or in our help center: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/ask

Turns out this is a different dupe bug to the one that was in beta. The beta one was a lag related issue, where if you lagged out your client you could dupe some how. This dupe is using an Auto Clicker to click....fast? God knows how it works!

Lol. This has been abused since head start, even if people didn't directly dupe themselves they may well of benefited from the trickle down effect. Also not uncommon to have throwaway accounts to do the actual duping. Plenty of threads across the net that really show the magnitude of the issue. The economy is forever effected.

Ditto, they will have a hard time ever sorting this issue, you got tons of players walking around in top gear through this, I bet a tiny % if any get banned.

How can they ever fix their economy if you got thousands of players now with millions of gold?

As long as the duped mats and dupers are removed things will be back to normal. IF they are removed.

How there are 1000 of players who benefited either from getting the mats dirt cheap from their mates to the ones who are walking around with many millions of gold, and we not talking a few here we talking a big big %

The vast majority of them have been banned, but even IF there ill gotten items make it to market, it hasnt and probably will not effect the market in any way.

This is kinda why Guild Stores are pretty good.

The market has already developed to a market value on the items they have duped. The wax is only worth 1k gold or less and you can earn that by doing 4 quests for example.

While I'm sure the circle jerkers will ride this train all the way to the station, the actual player base realise this has very little impact on the market.

How do you know a vast majority have been banned, because Zenimax told you so.

Considering they said the dupe just came to light speaks volumes, it's the very same dupe thats been around since beta, so it can't have just been discovered.

As i've said its a different dupe from beta, the beta dupe was forcing lag client side, this one was using a auto clicker.

Both very different bugs.

And yes because of ZOS saying so and also the amount of whining from banned people on Reddit, official forums, TF forums and other locations.

Funny that, as it was posted on the official forums 7 days ago and promptly deleted.

Sums it all up quite neatly. http://www.reddit.com/r/elderscroll...ern_regarding_zenimaxs_accountability_to_the/

This bug has been about since beta, whatever way you want to spin it. There's a good chance you yourself have some of the gains of the dupe, even if it's just cheap mats :)

Also the people "whining" were a vocal minority who have already been unbanned as they were falsely banned to begin with. Another balls up by Zenimax.

Sorry you mean a random person posted they where aware of this bug and reported it during beta and then deleted his post, so now all you have is some random persons comment on reddit saying this and you want me to take yours and his word for this?

Not sure if your being serious or just really bad at trolling. Actually we know your really bad at trolling with the whole sales figures rubbish.

Dunno why you're taking it so personally, it's like I came to your home at Christmas and took a dump on your tree.

Why is it so hard to accept that maybe the exploit existed longer than your perception of acceptable will allow?

I'm not trolling just discussing the game and topics surrounding it, you don't need to white knight it so hard mate. The facts speak for themselves in regards to the dupe. Bury your head in the sand if you wish, but in doing so you are just allowing the devs to get away with these kind of blunders in the future.

It's all lies as misinformation I tell thee !!! :p

It's all blizzard I tell ya! They always bully the new mmo on the block :(

Seems as if there is one massive bug after another with ESO, not surprising considering who they have on their management team though. Essentially all your doing is beta testing it until it goes live on console anyway :D

Almost all of the questionable design choices have been someway influenced by ease of access for console users. Was similar to DCUO in that regard. It really feels and plays much like a console game, which isn't necessarily bad.

Yeah I've seen some pretty game breaking bugs reported, from complete banks contents disappearing to being unable to progress due to quest bugs.
