*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

Believe it or not this bug had been reported to Zenimax by some players since beta.

It's only once it went viral did it get hotfixed.

Very poor and bad form if that is the case. Any sort of exploit like this can potentially ruin the whole economy and make people lose trust in the devs. Things like this need to be acted on the instant they're made aware of them.

I'd like to see anyone that used this have their account permanently banned and their payment details flagged.

Damn, it didn't sell well. I'd better stop playing now, it mustn't be any good :)

It's early days yet. Still seems a bit low, I wonder does that figure include preorders? Probably not. Also should make a lot of sales for the consoles as well.

I recommend the game to anyone who asks, but, the reaction I get from most people is that it's pretty expensive for a monthly subscription game.

Just saw the date, if it's for the week ending the 5th of april and it was released on the 4th, then 250K isn't bad for one day :)

When did this finish early access? Roughly?

Having a complete brain fart at the mo.

I think I get what your saying. Game was released on 4th a Friday and they only had 2 days of that week to sell copies, so in 2 days they sold that many at retail stores.

:D

Edit

Actually that is 1 day of sales, as it was week ending 5th. Hahahahaha

So the sales numbers are coming in. ESO is unsuprisingly not selling very well.

Before anyone says it, VGchartz does now include digital sales.

ESO

253k

For comparison, here's how SWTOR and GW2 did on their first weeks:

SWTOR

1.4 mil

GW2

849k

Seems like F2P in a year is almost set in stone now. I can't see the game selling much better in the coming months on PC, what with the server issues, a dupe bug that has destroyed the economy completely (that was also around since beta) and poor reviews it's not looking good.

Hopefully once this and WildStar are out of the way, the MMORPG genre can stop with this conveyor belt quest hub based nonsense.

Don't know if you are right or wrong about F2P. I don't think the reviews have been that poor. It was always going to be an MMO that divided people's opinion. And a lot of the bad reactions are from those people expecting it to be more like Skyrim. I would say that the reaction is mainly positive and most seem to enjoy the game, just have few issues.

But I can say you are completely wrong with your sales figures. Vgchartz only displays the retail sales figures not digital downloads. So I would imagine that the actual sales figures are much higher.

yeah it includes pre-order figures - any sales numbers in the 1st week will always include pre orders etc. I expect it hasnt done aswell as they hoped after all we're 3 weeks in and there hasn't been any word on sales/concurrent users. After all they were crowing about the amount of beta sign ups.

I also believe VG now take into account some digital sites, but not all and especially not direct from Zennimax themselves.

This is probably a better link http://www.vgchartz.com/game/70799/the-elder-scrolls-online/

I said that too, check my post above, but I have since found out that first week sales also includes pre orders.

Still only retail information though.

Well the game was utter pants in beta, so not surprised it's selling so poorly, in our guild we have around 60 people who preordered WS, we had 3 including me who pre-ordered ESO.

We pretty much the average guild so maybe gives a idea how this game was/is being received.

Just a quick one guys. I use nothing but heavy Armour, and it's currently saying in the Character screen that my Armour is overcharged and it will be tougher to train.

I was just wondering if there is a way to prevent this except for the obvious, which would be to change my Armour lol. thanks in advance.

You can remove some skills, but replacing armour is best
It's purpose is to stop you from stacking stupid amounts of armour. Just replace your belt and gloves with light armour to get the light armour passives.

It means harder to raise in value not skill up. As in you might upgrade from a 150 to a 180 armour chest but you char screen will only show a 15 point increase. Law of diminishing returns and all that.

When you hit softcap you're at about 30% damage resistance but the hard cap is up at 50% so you can still add plenty more on. If you're going pure tank then don't worry too much, if you're going offtank/dps spec then probably worth swapping belt/gauntlets out for light (mana regen) or medium (crit).

Maybe into the VR dungeons with high craftd gear a pure tank might want 2 light for spell resistance too but I'm only 46 so not found that out yet
