*** Official Elder Scrolls MMO Thread ***

Anyone got any ideas? I've been unable to log in since the patch. Nothing has updated and my build is still 1.0.09 or something. I can get to the login screen and then get 'LOGIN TIMES OUT' or the message stating my account is not valid for that game or whatever. I've tried a reboot, repair and running as admit. This is pretty poor...

Try running the repair tool. Its under the cog wheel above the news section on the launcher?

If that completes without a problem, then your client is fine.

Last night the servers where taking a hammering. Lots of issues, but also loads of people logging on.

I'll try and set up my stream today, planning on doing some veteran dungeons tonight and tomorrow.

Surely the class skills can't all be terrible? One of the big selling point is that you shouldn't have to be limited too much by the class you choose?

From all the promise this game has delivered and the hype you had, I hope you don't burn out due to feeling the need to min-max. I feel like I have played too much at 1 and a half days /played and I'm only level 22.

The problem is with the nightblade you provide the lowest single target DPS and AOE, least useful synergies and hardly any group benefits.

I'll explain in the morning, going to bed.

Enjoyed playing last night - like Skyrims bigger brother in a way :D

Noticed that you cant pick pocket NPC's which is a shame cause I used to enjoy being a thieving ******* Skyrim lol :p ;) Also the bow play is very simple, cant zoom in, cant hold your breath (using your stamina etc), but I guess there are always going to be differences in play from the games to MMO

Thieving is coming, they are working on a Criminal system to come with the Thieves guild.

Is there a place to report bugs? I am guessing on the official forums, but has anyone else reported anything?

Press C to open your character window, then across the top is a large ? which you can click to access the GM help stuff.

So to explain.

I rolled a 2h and bow nightblade, hoping that class wasn't a factor. It turns out to some extent it does.

So a bow using nightblade for single target can push 250-300 DPS on a single target. This is currently the same as a Templar Tank. A sorc with a destro/resto staff can push 400-450 DPS on single target.

Then on AOE, depending on mob size a nightblade can pull 600-800 and a sorc 1200-1500 per pack.

Its not the nightblade per say that is the problem, its the way classes synergise with the weapon you use. Nightblades are very PvP burst damage focused and outside DW its really noticeable.

So i've rerolled Templar Bow and 2h/destro staff, as i feel based upon a couple of hours of research it will synergise better with the weapons.

Ok so i kinda fixed the Nightblade class.

The problem is the Bow, the sustained DPS from the bow is incredibly low, so you should hardly use it unless solo questing on less then 2 mobs.

The key shockingly is to go DW, the single target dps and aoe dps is pretty competitive, its just a shame the bow isn't :(

Took me a good couple of days to fix the problem, respec'd about 10 times and leveled up multiple different weapons too.

So does anyone have a good levelling spec for Templar? I'm having mixed emotions over the class as don't seem to be able to find my groove. Currently level 20, rocking with 5/2 light/heavy armour and a 2 handed maul. Critical rush, solar barrage, reflective light, biting jabs and uppercut, breath of life or reverse slash in 5 th slot + Empowering sweep ultimate.

For the most part it does fine, but there are times when I feel I'm just not being as efficient as I could be.

Try this maybe?

We’ll be pushing a new patch during our regularly scheduled maintenance time tomorrow. The full patch notes will be available during the maintenance period, but we wanted to share the highlights with you now since they were a direct result of your feedback:

We have fixed issues with several quests that were blocking main quest progression. Those include Crossing the Chasm, Castle of the Worm, and The Army of Meridia.
We have fixed the issue with Liberation of Northpoint. The quest is now completable.
We have fixed several issues with Banished Cells that were making it uncompletable.
We have made many other quest fixes.
We have implemented many new things to thwart gold farmers, spammers, and botters.

In-Progress Updates
In addition to the fixes going live tomorrow, we want to give you a status update on some of the other hot issues we’re working on.

Missing Bank Slots, Stored Bank Items, and Skill Points – We're continuing to investigate the issue, and are working on a fix now. As soon as the fix is ready, we will push it out to the live megaservers. Please note: This may result in a second maintenance this week and when we do push the fix, it will not be retroactive. Know that we want to make this right for all impacted—we’re still exploring options to help those who have stored items/gold, and bank slots go missing.

Long Loading Times/Social Lag – Some people have been experiencing long loading times, guild chat lag, and other social systems lag, especially during peak times. We are aware of this and are actively investigating it. As soon as we have a fix, we will push it live.

Dungeon Treasure Chests – Based on feedback, we are changing treasure chests in instanced dungeons so that everyone gets a piece of loot regardless of who opens the chest. This change is currently being implemented and tested internally and will be released in a future patch as soon as it’s ready. Watch the patch notes for the news.

Public Dungeon & Delve Boss Monsters – Also based on feedback, we will be placing a timer on how often you can get loot from public dungeon and delve boss monsters. This timer is shared across all boss monsters in public dungeons and delves. This will not impact loot timers for quest-specific monsters or overworld group bosses. Watch the patch notes for news on when this change will go live.

Thank you for continuing to share your feedback and concerns with us. We’ll continue to read and listen, and update you on known issues and their status.

Some extremely encouraging fixes there. Really happy.

Wow, so much circle jerking going on and the amount of miss information is shocking.

If you want your flashy swords, your rocket houses, your toilet humour and child friendly combat MMO you crave, there is WoW and WS for you.

This game is made for a different player base and not everyone fits that.

Really enjoying this still! The main thing that impresses me most is something so little, and it's the weight and feel of the combat. When charging up a 2H for a blow it just feels so damn good, and when you block and then take advantage they go down like a ton of bricks. Just feels great. :)

Oh man i experience this quite a lot with leveling my templar alt.

Charging in and smashing them with a 2h feels amazing.

Is it correct that the quests for the veteran rank zones are the exact same ones you do in your 1-50 content, or is someone pulling my leg?

Spoilers if anyone doesn't want to know.

So you go to Coldharbour at around 45 - 50. Once you finish the main quest you get another which ports you to a factions starting location.

You then basically have their 1-50 content but scaled up and A LOT harder. Mobs are pushing 2-4k health, Trolls have 7k health which crazy damage and regen, Anchors take realistically 6+ and even then its touch and go.

So while you do experience the others zones, i think some of the mobs have been changed.

You average around 1 level per zone and you get very little from killing mobs.

Well I will definitely be subbing, that much I am certain of.

I'm thoroughly enjoying ESO at the moment. It really has brought back the old MMOs that I played pre-WoW. Stuff of the UO and Daoc era. Stuff where I had to beat other players to get to that ore or wood because otherwise they got it first and it was gone. Shared dungeon areas where loads of people are running up and down the corridors rather than just the handful of my group. The brilliance of no overhead names on enemies , so sick and tired of MMOs where I cannot use the terrain because I have giant letters over my head. The need to explore the world instead of clicking a quest guy and being told exactly where the next set of quests are, meaning that I only bother to see half of the game world and the rest of it may as well not bothered being made. A game where I am not level 20 after 1 days play, where I am not thrown so many epic items that I am constantly covered in great gear. And so on. These are all things which hark back to the very things which so enamoured me with MMOs in the first place, the very reasons I put so much time into them originally.

There are things which need further tweaking, I want housing, I want dyes, I want a little more variety in clothing in terms of appearance. I'd like the ability to morph stats on items so that I can keep the appearance I like whilst keeping the stats I like.

However these are all things that I can wait for and enjoy the game whilst that time passes :)

On an additional side that i think people are not aware of.

Spoilers for people that might want to explore on their own.

If you speak to inn keepers they give you gossip and locations of areas to quest or dungeons to explore.

Some areas don't have quests and you can trigger them by finding a bottle stuck in a tree with a note, a NPC being attacked by deadra that needs help or a battle of deadra and witch in the middle of the woods. I even helped some people make a fire and got XP for it.

You can intimidate travelling merchants for gold!

And much more!

With regards to dyes completely agree, housing i'm not so hot on but it would be a neat feature. The crafting aspect, you can craft a white item of a style and design you choose which changes with the materials you use and also with the quality of that item. You can then apply traits and armour glyphs which is essentially the same as dropped items if not better.

For example i crafted a Veteran rank 3 medium armour chest that look sort of pale brown in white condition, when it went to green it got a additional colours and features, same with blue and epic.
