I can't even get out the first cell!

The prophet appears says he'd unlock it and then nothing. Press E to open but nothing happens

4th char so far and no issues there, did you speak to him completely? An Argonian is supposed to come and unlock the door for you.

I didn't say that I enjoyed the questing in TERA but it is a better game than ESO.

I really don't give a single **** about full voice acting in a MMO. I don't play MMOs for the story and if I did I'd prefer the quests not to be go here talk to this person, kill this and then collect this.

Here Here!!!! Tera is a million miles better than this hobbling wreck of what used to be a great game called Skyrim. Did you see the way they asked questions in the survey at the end of a long play session lol? It's like they know the game is really terrible and are asking all the questions about detachment from the story and boredom just to reaffirm that they need to cancel the release and go back to the drawing board for a year or two.

Worked on my second character, thanks guys!

Played for a little bit, graphics are very poor almost early 2000 graphics. Animation is very slow and so on.

Wont be spending any monthly payments that's for sure

I think someone was saying Neverwinter is rubbish and this is much better so I went and downloaded it on steam. Neverwinter is really great - it has lush settings and you get to choose if it holds your hand or not. The world is massive and teeming with life and characters. The voice acting is arguably much better in Neverwinter too and they aren't all fetch quests and 'flip a switch' or 'dungeon corridor' copy pastes like this ESO rubbish.
I'll be logging in to play more Neverwinter on and off as my wife saw me playing it and wanted to join me lol so now we're playing together! She saw ESO and commented that I looked bored and kept sighing.................My survey responses were probably highly offensive to the developers as I lambasted the game but hey I guess a few casual gamers will pick it up because of the name.

Neil there no were near 2000 graphics [ Games likes Elite forces or No Ones Live Forever ] :P I was there lol there more like 2007-8 which is fine for a MMO because it needs to have a low spec for old machines when I was playing I had full AA and stuff on and it looked fine.

Now I am not defending the game as I am not going to buy it most MMO's in the last 5 years are just clones of each other

Neverwinter could be awesome if it wasn't for the horrible horrible lag. That and their quickslot for spells/abilities seems a bit odd. It should stick to what other MMOs did and use F-keys or number keys.

I'm hoping some of my mates get NW, as we all used to play ultra-sessions on the first and second game with me hosting a server on a spare PC. Brilliant fun.

I'm guessing we can do the same with this MMO, as the dungeons are instanced.

Basic unpaid membership is pretty crap too - you cannot PM people (unsure if you can communicate AT ALL!).

Yeah true but to be fair we're just shouting across the room lol :)

They know it's not very good, their beta testers have been telling them for months

Played a couple of hours just - still in the starting zone islands but so far I'm enjoying it a lot, unfortunately the beta is too short for me to have a proper idea and I haven't encountered anything that would make me change from wow.

Well not terribly impressed, especially for a subscription based MMO. I have long had concerns that ESO would end up being in a limbo, not satisfying MMOers by being MMO enough , and not satisfying Elder Scrolls fans by being not Elder Scrolls enough, and it seems my fears have been founded.

For what this is, I just dont think it can make it as an MMO and certainly not as a pay monthly MMO. There are simply many more f2p options out there which are either better, or at the least as good as, this, (Aion, Tera, Rift, GW2 and so on and maybe even EQ Next when it comes). I agree with others in this thread, I can see this very quickly going to F2P. Im afraid imo, they should have stuck with what they know and produced another Elder Scrolls, rather than attempt a dip into the MMO market.

The game being an MMO does nothing to make it any less of an Elder Scrolls game, if they had stuck with the same formular i.e open world, sandbox type gameplay, there would be more praise than complaints. Even with the shoddy animations. But what they've done is slapped on generic MMO features and put Elder Scrolls on rails.

lotr was a nice looking mmo as well :-)

This looks better than LOTRO, beats Tera in some places and loses in others and is about on par with TSW.

Tera yes, rest? No.

Having played several characters for quite some hours each, it's obvious this is just another generic quest-hub to quest-hub MMO with TES slapped on it's behind. There is no open world, sandbox type play here and it seems the mobs that populate the world are there just to get in the way of you moving from hub to hub - they offer little to no xp and loot. Combat is just odd, it's like they designed it for tab to target, then replaced it at the last minute with a cross hair system ala Tera. Also in is the now seemingly obligatory, don't stand in the fire mechanic.

It's a shame no company can seem to break away from the WoW quest hub mold the whole MMO industry finds itself in.

On the plus, it's pretty to look at (for an MMO), the animations (excluding jumping) on the whole are decent enough and it has some interesting skill trees. If you enjoy quest hub type MMO's and are looking for a change of scenery, this could satisfy you for a while.

I've no idea what PvP is like as I didn't do any. I tried grouping a few tiems without much luck too so can't comment on that either.

Lastly, still can't believe this is launching as a sub based MMO.
