Boo Merlin, we said a "good combo" :) I'l give it a try though.

For someone who has this game installed, what's a top of the leaderboard time for this track?

Not counting the two cheats at the top, grisfiske is the top legitimate time. He's at the top of pretty much everything, along with Bortz.

 
I'm sure I could have been about a tenth faster than this, but it's really not worth the hours it would take to run a perfect lap. Merlin will spend the time to beat it anyway ;)

My time was like 120th in the world on the leaderboard so I was feeling pretty chuffed with myself for my time. Come in here and aeT has beaten me by more than a second. :mad:

Yeah, the first corner is a right bugger. Screw it up and the whole lap is worthless.

I find not losing too much speed and running wide after the intial turn in lets you get a better line into the part of the corner where it really tightens up which sets you up well for when it switches to a left hander.
 
Yeah guys, turn 1 is a bit of a knack, but once you've got it, you'll be fine. Throw it hard into the turn with no braking going down from 7th to 5th almost immediately, keep dabbing the throttle while going quickly down to 4th then 3rd, then quickly down to 2nd. You'll find yourself getting round that parabolica faster as you gear down faster. Keep it tight to the left as you start to come out of it and get on the throttle quickly but use throttle control with gradual acceleration or you'll spin. As I've said in the past, some of these turns are a load of parabolics. :D

As if I'd do such a thing :p I've been ahead of your ghost a few times, but I keep screwing up the penultimate hairpin, I'm just going wide all the time and not getting my braking right.

Brake just before the 150 meter board and apply about 5%/10% throttle to keep the front right from locking up, also i find if you don't downshift like a nutter there is less change of locking up and it can shorten the braking zone.

Thanks Mr.Fantastic. Yeah, that's about where I've been braking. I think I've sorted out my downshifting speed at that point, my problem is I need to turn in quicker and tighter like I do at turn 6 hairpin, and keep further to the left I think, otherwise I keep going too wide of the hairpin apex. Btw, I'm going down to 1st gear there, same for you, or 2nd? Tried to race your ghost earlier. Bloody impossible to keep up with, but it did push me to accelerate sooner as I come out of the parabolica at turn 1.

Congrats Merlin on winning your first TT competition, the only reason i posted my time after 9 PM because in past we have posted time well after 9 PM on Sunday some times even after midnight (check page 2 on this thread).

I am absolutely fine with you winning the TT, don't get me wrong the only reason i am saying this because i don't want anybody to think that i was being cheeky when i posted my time after 9 PM, perhaps moving forward we need to change the rules and clearly states that no times will be allowed after 9 pm Sunday.

In the end of day we all here for fun no matter who wins the competition :)
