why not show everytime you beat it? i didnt do them all at the same time, its taken me a few days to get the time down but ive only had time to catch up tonight

Just me or does using manual gears make you brake in less distance? Been practiscing using manual and I find that when I come into a sharp corner I bang down the gears really quick (into second still doing 150mph+) and my braking distance seems to be smaller.

I didn't realise this game takes into account engine braking so much!

Been practicing my manual gearchanges! Managed to find almost half a second and I think I can get more time shaved with more practice.

Racing line. :o Be a man! Why not the driver view?

I'd love to jump in this on the PC but the PC isn't in the main room where my playseat is. Guess I'll need to jump into the dull blurry PS3 version.

Well you can see almost everyone else in this thread uses tcam as well, it's just better. I find it really hard to get my wheels placing exactly where I want them with driver view.

Also, racing line for the win!

I used to use T-Cam constantly in this game, but after driving the F1 and Indycar in iRacing I've gotten completely used to the cockpit view, can't get on with the T-cam anymore.

No skill then.

Just as well you don't play rFactor. No virtual racing line exists. You have to rely on yard markers or whatever you want to use to mark your braking points on the track.

One of the reasons when I first got F1 2010 for fun was never to use the assists. It's cheesy and it's like cheating. Guides aiding and helping so therefor even less mistakes, rather than a person driving/anticipating, judging what and where on the track.

Relax, this is a game, not a sim, at least a few of the people in here have no idea of there way around the tracks, so a racing line isn't a problem. They have no advantage over you or me, no aids is by far the fastest way around the track in this game, so just beat them on the track and stop moaning.

I don't really understand how using the racing line means no skill.

How about we get rid of the distance markers going into corners as well?
They're just as no skill as using a racing line.

Managed to shave 0.2 secs off my best. I think about another 0.2 secs and I have reached the end of my talent! Would love to beat your time webmonkey. :p

After my defence of GFWL in relation this game, I'm now stuck in an infinite GFWL update loop, which is quite ironic, ah well.

Set up an offline profile and got myself down to a 29.6 or so, but it was just a flukey lap. I can't get my wheel feeling anywhere near what it felt like the last time I drove this, and I need a lot more practice than a quick 20 minutes, so I'l be participating in next weeks combo.

Mr. F, can you post your in-game wheel settings for me? I have a feeling you'll be using similar to what I used to use.
