**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

is it possible to raise primary stat past 10?

I did some reading and some say you can't (like previous versions of the game) and others say you can. on wikia, it is vague since it says "it appears that you can"

only way I can think of to test this for sure was to max strength to 10 then pick up strength bobblehead and see if my weight carry limit was permanently increased.

unfortunately I already picked up the bobbleheads, and this only works if you use the bobblehead once you have reached 10.

I know that on my Pip boy I have + 10 perception, agility and luck; however this was also the case in previous games, but the level was still capped at 10 even if pip boy said otherwise. this is why strength is good measure since carry weight is actually a known and easily verifiable measure.

anyone tested this?

cheers

My CHR is 11 after taking grape mentat. Or do you mean permanently?

And to add to what others have said, even with the 980ti, I'm dripping to 30s in some places :(

Not that long after I encountered the first large town / city, I decided to go with the optimal settings suggested by GFE. I've never been interested in it before, but to be fair it made a big difference - and with no noticeable loss in IQ. I had to lower godrays & shadow distance to medium to keep the fps more in line with 60. The fps does still drop a bit in the odd area (only towns / cities so far), but it's miles better than it was.

I meant permanently.;) I have 12 luck with a left leg armor piece. but luck is hard stat to know for sure if 10 or 12 make any real difference

Yeah you can. I had 10 on intelligence, strength and endurance before grabbing the bobble head and now all are at 11 permanently without any bonus from armour or meds. Works nicely when you go XP hunting, can boost intelligence up to 15/16 with meds and the right armour.

GFE?

Walking past a Gunners camp and saw something freaking out in the distance :p

Good thing that car didn't come hurling right at you though !! Might given you bit of a headache if it had. :p

I see you have same problem I have with the scope. I am using this fix for it, although it does give you the whole screen visable so might be a bit to much when snipping, I just can't stand it being 16:9 for the scope and visable on the sides.

Scope black box fix by Mark Peterson - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/320/?
On the other hand if you not bothered with it, ignore the link. :p

Interesting video that sums up most of my frustrations of the game, and why I ultimately can't rate it very highly, despite enjoying it in large parts-

There are lots of story spoilers in it so beware.

ok thx.

wish I had known this before bobblehead hunting :o

Trying to fix the getting stuck after a terminal issue - Scouring this thread to fix is proving hard due to the length...

The terminals all worked up until I got to the garage place which is when the issue started.

Hardware:

2x 780Ti in SLi
Asus Rog Swift Running 2560 x 1440 @ 144Hz (G-SYNC)

I have downloaded the latest drivers released yesterday.

I have my FOV set to 110 (the default is awful!!).

I tried turning off V-Sync in the application settings for FO4 in the Nvidia control panel and that didn't work. I am trying to establish how to get rid of this without making the rest of the gfx look rubbish. To say its frustrating would be an understatement as it makes the game unplayable :(

You need to lock the game to say 60fps or I believe 110fps is OK as well.

Use them and you'll find out! :p

They're computers with random information or notes left by people back before the war, possible quest starters and can be hacked to unlock doors or safes.
