**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Yes, the Settlement thing do take some time. And having around 12 of them or so adds up. :p Although, not all of them are maxed out, I just put radio tower on a couple of them (those that needed through the quest line) and resently turned them all off as well, due to taking bit to much time. :o Just gonna sort out The Castle then continue with some quests again. Really need to find a mod that changes the spawn time on Raiders and the like though, they seem to pop back faster the rabbits populations.

I am always confused by this. Bar the few supermutant raids on my settlements now which seem ridiculously strong where they attack with miniguns and rocket launchers, the normal raiders get mowed down by the defence. Wish they did not have the notifications pop up for settlements which can defend themselves.

I think thats cause you spend a lot of time in The castle, so the antenna pumps out a lot of jobs for you to do!, atleast thats what i noticed
But in the world of fallout 4 nobody knows :)

Nah, I took Castle very recently, might been around the 102hr mark so had it for 7 hours roughly. I been following Gopher's RP's of FO4 and he had a very funny spawn. He cleared out Thicket Excavations and he being him, both him and follower was fully with stuff so went back to Sanctuary to unload all junk. Then they passed the place right after, just a few hours after clearing it and it already respawned! I not had it that close but just walking through Concord the Raiders there is back every other day or so, it should really be dialed back some I think, atleast a week beteen respawns minimum.

Angilion, question for yourself I believe.
I now have all settlements working, outfitted and defended, though clearly not aswell as yourself.
I still have a continual pair of missions from Preston to assist settlements, either due to them being hassled by bad guys, or due to a kidnapping.
Do you get the same? I did think that this was normal.

The best way to fix this (I've found) is to go do the quest i.e speak to the settler, go kill the bad guys/save the kidnapped victim then speak to the settler again. Do not tell Garvey about it, the quest will eventually auto complete and give you the XP without giving you another timed quest.

Better than using a mod imo, if you want to do them again you can just go to the castle and listen to a broadcast or speak to Garvey again.

Went to the museum of witchcraft last night. Was expecting some a lot scarier. The creature encounter was tough but a little underwhelming.

Just got given Reba II was nice :D

As an aside is it possible to (vanilla) mod RebaII? My existing sniper rifle is the "special" incendiary one and I don't really want to be lugging two sniper rifles around. Presumably if it can be done I need to get more than one star in Gun Nut rating and the relevant parts?

Anyone know of a fix for the terminal hacks not working, I click and since the patch it doesn't open terminal. I've deleted all mods and reshades etc, and tried the iHeight and iWidth trick?

I've tried reinstalling twice, deleting all files but my save files each time, anyone else come across this problem?

I have to say that The Glowing Sea has to be one of the most atmospheric areas I've seen in any sandbox game. It truly is an amazing place to be in, lots of great encounters and haunting discoveries lurk there.

Finally completed it today, 73 hours in total, including my false start as a melee build.

Not sure what to do now, retry as unarmed, or finally get around to trying NV again...

What??? 150 hours in and ive just entered the glowing sea. Most of my time has been exploring, crafting, building and questing. Seems like you have missed 3/4 of the game

Think I've now done 130 hours. Been everywhere (or so I believe). Have completed the main quests and also as many of the secondary as I could find. All the settlements are fully integrated and defended and I've been playing it on survival mode for the last 40 hours to make it more of a challenge.

One question, are there any aliens in Fallout 4? Never found one.

Before i go there is the witches museum worth going to? i ask cause most areas people have mentioned to visit in the game loot wise have been abit poop

Well having read on here and at Reddit that Salem is one of the main towns in the world, I made the perilous journey across the so called "quiet" NE of the map. Frankly, it was a bit underwhelming to arrive and find a (human) population of precisely one. Plus various assorted over-sized molluscs. The side mission was average but not recommended unless you have a decent weapon >30 hit points and several Molotov's. You do get a nice reward at the end and there's a sought after weapon
Fat Boy launcher
in one of the locations you go to. Other loot is a best average as you aren't going to get much in the way of ammo or caps off non-human antagonists. Not sure if the town repopulates later or if there's a workbench to kick off a settlement.

Thanks for that, Thus far im finding Fallout3 side missions / areas more interesting than 4, Dont get me wrong im liking 4 over all but im not sure ill end up at 100hours mark if i dont get more interesting areas soon

Just finished the main story line at level 50 :( I thought the end was very weak, although I suppose I have only seen the one outcome.

I am going to play on as I have some places I haven't been to yet. I might even go back to an earlier save so I can go down a different path.

Same, just finished at level 50 and felt the same.

Seems to be no endgame, was at least hoping for some special abilities.

Like being able to call Liberty prime for help.

Still wondering whether I should have helped the institute. Decided to help the brotherhood, probably the lesser of all evils

Silly question but is there a way to copy an entire building for another settlement? I can't see myself pouring hours into it tbh.

I dont think so as per villina version of it unless you use some of the prefab structures but it would be a really good idea for a mod to make blueprints

I stumbled across a very eastern area settlement with a workbench, but it says I cannot use this workbench yet as I haven't made a settlement there yet. Trouble is Preston won't give me a mission, he just loops helping out existing settlements. Do I have to progress the story more to unlock it?

So I just stumbled upon Brother Simon and his entourage, ended up murdering all of them after he pulled a piece on me. Will this have any overall effect on the rest of my experience? I usually try the diplomatic way out of these situations but he wasn't having any of it!

It may affect one side mission, as you are tasked with finding a woman who has joined that particular group. There may be a different outcome though since you murdered them all :)
