Is this the next gen update? What a joke!!

Thought the same. Was expecting new textures, updated AI, mechanics etc.
Instead we get widescreen support, ‘next gen’. Bethesda have gone backwards. I’ve lost all hype for their future titles.
Playing through Fallout 4 for the first time now, properly. Think I dabbled in the past...barely getting anywhere.
Not much in the update is there? Why start now when there's an update coming soon?
Yep. Not the same company no more. Shame.

I'm also playing through The Outer Worlds, having previously played Starfield. The former is far better imo; it feels like it was made with more passion.Yea I dunno what's going on there but really gone downhill.
I'm playing Outer Worlds at the moment which I got free on the epic store, it's developed by obsidian, who were apparently ex-employees of Bethesda, the game is technically inferior to Starfield in almost every way, and released 5 years ago.
But, despite that, I'm enjoying it more than Starfield, I dunno how they went so wrong with Starfield, as Outer Worlds isn't really all that different, but it's got a certain style to it, and I feel more immersed.

Have they ever been at the cutting edge? I think it was with Morrowind, but other than that... mediocrity at best from all aspects.
The only Fallout related gaming I'm looking forward to is the upcoming London mod for FO4.
I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being delayed due to this unwanted and frankly worthless patch.
See post 7219 above.
Haha sounds exactly like the Skyrim update. WS support.... finally. Still no DLSS/FSR/RT or anything vaguely like it though.Thought the same. Was expecting new textures, updated AI, mechanics etc.
