**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

For the people whining about the graphics, nobody is forcing you to buy it. Wait a year and then buy it then and there will be a whole load of mods available and play The Witcher 3 with all the animated mullets and be happy in the meantime. The rest of us will play the game in its current "crap-looking" state earlier and everyone will be happy..right??

It was the same with the Mass Effect series and people complaining about the graphics in that too,and I still appreciated the Crysis and Metro series for how good they looked, and I have like a 100 mods in my Skyrim install too.

If graphics are the most important aspect of the game, and you don't think Bethesda are doing enough for you, vote with your wallet then!!

Graphics isnt a a PROBLEM, its just that Bethesda sticks with a dated engine. Its 2015 and small indie projects look miles better, that are several years older.

A lot of Blizzard titles are no better,or even what Valve is selling currently??

Both of those companies have billions of dollars IIRC!!

They are all using patched up legacy engines like the one Bethesda is using for FO4 which at least has DX11 support now, hence why they can use tessellation.

Edit!!

Even look at many western MMOs,which poorly optimised engines.

Planetside2 is the same.

The ARMA series has an engine that is very poor scaling on CPUs,and is massively single thread bottlenecked to an extent even expensive CPUs can't run it that well.

Whining about the graphics is pretty annoying, tbh. They look fine to me, and frankly the "I've seen better from an indie game" line gets very old, very fast.

The graphics are fine. Try to enjoy the game and not just be a graphics bore.

Cant enjoy it when it suffers from bad writing and bad visuals. And if what the people who have the game have said about the story is true, then its not going to be a very good game. It may have content though, but is it GOOD content? The voice actors dont sound convincing, as if they werent talking to eachother in the same room. And the lipsync is terrible.

Im not a graphics bore. Some of the best games out: Prison Architect, Cities Skylines, Grimrock, Kerbal Space Program, Pillars of Eternity.

They all had much lower budgets yet their games dont look bad for what they are.
