**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Anyone decided on their starting stats yet?

I'm going with this.

S. 3 For Armorer.
P. 5 Was only going to go 4(Locksmith) but i fancy making my own grenades.
E. 5 Aquaboy.
C. 4 Attack Dog.
I. 6 Science For the Energy Weapon Mods.
A. 3 For Sneak.
L. 2 Only really interested in the extra ammo.

probably put a lot more in luck and science myself. Luck has many advantages beyond the perks if it's like previous games

as for season pass I'm waiting for an ETA on the first DLC :D

cdkeys key arrived - awesome! Been pre-loading for the last 10 minutes and at 7.3/23.8 GB - should be done in plenty of time for Tuesday, now let's just hope the game delivers!

Watched some streams this morning, map looks significantly smaller compared to previous titles but there is A LOT more detail in what there is. The guy was saying it took him over and hour to clear just one factory building. Desperately needs difficulty mods though it looks way too easy especially with an indestructible dog

Since this is now out, has anyone tried it on less than min specs, my gfx is below the min but am only playing on a 1600 x 1050 screen. Don't went to spend 40 quid for nothing when I can't afford a new card until after Xmas. I do wish they would make a timed demo 30 mins would let me know.

EDIT - It's not the tenth? Hmmm I've gained two extra days!
I wouldn't be surprised if you could play it at like 1600x900(or the next 16:10 res down from 1680x1050) with low textures, but seriously, just wait man.

The game will likely get a few either nice or needed patches by then, along with some early modding efforts that might be worth having. Then you can play it with some decent graphics and performance.

Buy directly from steam. If it doesn't play well, get a refund.

Doesn't look brilliant graphics wise, disappointed. Playing Witcher 3 atm and it will take some beating tbh, technically and otherwise.

Being a Fallout fanboy I still can't wait to get stuck in :)

The problem with the witcher is that it looks stunning and the writing and quest flow is impressive, but the world is actually pretty empty with so much travelling involved. For all their claims of it being bigger and more filled than skyrim, it wasn't any more engaging to me.

You seem to be judging the graphics based on a fairly pixelated and entirely dodgy livestream sir... I know that you are smarter than that! :p

But that it makes it seem more real! There's lush areas to admire, little villages to walk through etc. There was however too much water :D

I definitely want to unlock the weapon and armour mods, but undecided on everything else. Intelligence looks particularly appealing to me. I wonder how many additional points there will be in the game...i am sure there were extra to be found in fallout 3?

I think there is too much to do if anything, being overwhelmed is its only potential flaw! You don't need to go too far to get a monster den or a bandit camp, and loads of towns, more so than Skyrim. I have tons of quests, and I'm still doing the main story 200 hours in, after treasure hunting, completing maps and doing Witcher contracts, and I'm up to getting the Mages together. New game + and the first content pack to come, it really is bursting with content. I don't mind every quiet spot as the weather effects and scenery are just simply amazing.

Combat is awesome compared to Skyrim.

The biggest flaw imo is Geralt, I think he's a bit of a *****.

I know the video is SD, but you can still make out the textures to a pretty accurate degree. Will see, but I don't think Witcher 3 will be completed by then so I'm perplexed as to put Witcher 3 on hold, nah I'll finish it before Fallout 4 session, as I'll be spending a lot of time on Fallout, Fallout 3/Vegas my best games of last generation.
