**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Bought this from G2Play through Kinguin for £21 back in June, email came through today with the steam key and currently preloading at 8.9MB/s :) Cant wait!
 
Finished pre-installing also :)

Admittedly CD keys did not send out an e-mail, but just checked my account after reading this thread and the key was waiting.

My pre-order from Amazon was dispatched today. Hopefully it will arrive on Monday, although it's estimated for Tuesday.

Are you aware that the disc doesn't contain the game? You have to download it from Steam even if you have the disc.
 
Aye i ordered from cdkeys yesterday, got the key today, download happily done at 7.5whatevers, not bad at all really.
I assume steam will be delighted as it spreada traffic well over a full launch week, and their europe server went from a 1.0tps max to a 1.2 for europe. Tiss rather i pressive and no doubt mostly due to fo4.
 
Got my key from Greenmangaming instantly. Preloaded already. £32 with a voucher.

It feels safer and less dirty than using grey market vendors.
 
So... was there any particular bonus to paying about £16 more to get it from steam? (As cdkeys have now released keys?). I'm kinda commenting on "why the premium on direct steam purchases". Apart from the "mr handy announcer for dota2" which I'm...(sarcasm) SOOOOO jealous about (/sarcasm) I don't see how steam can be so bare faced about it's pricing?

The publisher sets the price (Bethesda) not Steam. As such, this means any copies directly from Steam will always been at the "RRP" unless the publisher wants to discount it, put it on sale or reduce the RRP. You're effectively buying from the publisher directly, with Steam as the interface to do so as it's a distribution platform.

Proper channels key sites buy their keys from the publisher, so they can set any price they want. Grey channel key sites often buy their keys from territories where the game's price is lower due to a lesser average income. Their keys are usually in form of hard copies, or from distributors in those regions. This again allows them to see the keys at whatever price they want.

In short, no there was no bonus.
