**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Nice, although now I know the damage to do it's going to be less exciting to find... :/

I just found
a gamma gun. Lots of damage, but seems to do next to nothing against Super Mutants; I presume they have resistance to radiation/energy weapons but I don't have the perk that shows weaknesses in VATS

I still don't get this food thing, unless it's bugged? Do crops in a settlement have to have a settler to tend to them? Have planted about 9 tato plants, mut fruit and corn, and after 10 hours real time, they're not growing any fruit. If I press e on them (no prompt) my character says "I need to assign someone to this".

They will grow anyway, just need to wait a bit longer. Just leave them and go play, come back later. Worth assigning people to them when you get more settlers.

Guys I've not got 1440p as an option in my Fallout graphics settings drop down menu, it goes straight from 1080p to 4k. Has anyone experienced this? I've Googled and not been able to find anything.

Mine is the same, only have 1080p monitor, unsure why 4k is available......is that for DSR?

My game must be bugged then, as they're not. I planted them, and after 10+ real hours (several game days), they still bare and not interactive. I've noticed food I've picked from in other settlements isn't growing back either.

Got bored of my playthrough with the woman after finishing the Brotherhood line. Gonna start a play with the dude and try to stick to melee, see how it goes. 1 intelligence with Idiot Savant perk, full derp, Hulk smash :D

Wish they hadn't got rid of levelling. In real life you get better with practice, so it sort of makes sense for the damage to go up as you level up from experience with a weapon type. It seems so daft having to wait until your main level increases you can choose to put a perk point in to make your guns better...

Hope a mod brings back skill levelling.

Have you got enough water? (cant remember if they need it or not.....)

Assign a settler to them by opening the workshop menu pressing E on a settler then point at the plant & press E you will see if this has worked as the picture of the Vault-boy will change from Red (without assigned settler) to Green (with assigned settler) then when you fast travel out & back they should have grown.

I'm at Red Rocket. How do I get settler(s) to that base?

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I've got a 4K monitor. What's DSR?

DSR won't really apply to you then as I can't see why anyone would want (or be able to) render a current title at higher than 4k. DSR is Dynamic Super Resolution - basically downsampling. You run the game at 1440p for example, and but it then downsamples it to 1080p for your native screen res. You're taking the FPS hit of 1440p (even though it's then sent as 1080p) but it means you get a crisper image and less aliasing.

I decided to murder a particular member of BOS last night. Wish I hadn't now because they dropped a spoilerific item. On another note, does anyone know how to disable the ability to call up the console? I keep activating it by mistake.

That's interesting..

I assume it was Danse dropping a Synth component? If so then it's a nice touch. I had it spoiled for me too unfortunately, I was checking the wiki what companions are available, and I happened to notice that Danse's race was listed as 'Synth' :(

It might seem fun but VATS aside it sounds like it could work out similar to my run through on Skyrim where I just went through for hours bashing everyone with a huge warhammer.

It gets a bit dull.

Well, very dull really.

Yep, it was Danse. TBH, I woudn't have minded so much had I discovered it later in the game, however I chose to shoot him shortly after meeting him on the Prydwen.

Use the config tool to easily switch stuff on and off

Anyone met Strong yet? He's at my base and he won't shut up. He's literally saying his few one liners over and over. I think he's bugged :( For now I think I'm going to send him elsewhere...
