**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Is there a way to build walls up properly. I want to build tall but without floors.

I haven't tried this and it makes no sense, but I'm pretty sure it will work:

Build your structure to the height you want with floors in it (at least around the inside of the walls at each storey) and then remove the floors.

The building would collapse in reality, but buildings in FO4 can't collapse. You can have entire buildings suspended in midair by building them on foundation blocks and then removing the blocks, so a floorless tower of thin shack walls should be fine.

Using a similar method, you can put buildings through things they can't go through, e.g. a tree. Build the whole building on a foundation block (or two, or however many you need for the required height) a distance away from the tree, then group select the block (hold down E with default PC controls) which will select everything attached to the block. Move the whole thing to the desired position, put it there and then remove the block(s).

Need help at the Castle!

I'm supposed to build an artillery at the castle, so I follow the quest point to the workbench, make one, and place it. But the quest marker is still there and that lady still whines I need to make one

you need to build one on every pad, not just one of them

Once you build one grab another settler and assign them to the gun. pretty sure you only need to build one

odd, the game kept on sending me back to the construction bench until I'd put one on every pad and then it told me to allocate a settler to one of them.

On my exploration of FO4 I stumbled upon a certain vault (no, not a Fallout Vault, a normal one :p ). Great way of getting bit extra lockpicking experience and of course sweet loot ! *bing bing*

All in all, was 16 safes and only one was opened, the rest was 5 Novice, 5 Advance, 3 Expert and 2 Master. Downside is you need Master Hacker skill to open the main Vault first though. :p

Is that the one with where one of the safety deposit boxes has a red button in, opening a secret vault with a sick legendary wep in?

Nah one will do but you need to assign someone to it to start the next part of that mission...

Cheers

Where was it?

Incase others don't want to be spoiled about the location it is in the spoiler. :p

It's in The Fens, after you come over the bridge from Cambridge heading towards Diamond City, take the second alley to the left, the building is called Bridgeway Trust. Hope that helps.

After 130 hours i've completed the main storyline and I have to say it was really, really weak. At no point did I ever care about any of the factions or my stupid son.

Some of the voice acting was dire too (i'm looking at you Preston!), they should have hired the cast from The Witcher 3.
