**** Official Fallout 4 Thread ****

Would you use a mod which simply awarded you every achievement without you doing anything? If not, why not? It's not really any different to being awarded the achievements in a game altered by mods - either way, you're not doing what the achievement was intended to be awarded for.

Nope.

I've not installed any mods that I would consider as knocking the game balance out of kilter. I tend to install bug-fixing or cosmetic mods more than anything because as soon as I feel like I'm using a cheat, I become bored quickly and stop playing.

But yeah, I'm not the sort that has to have 100% achievements on each game but the odd few are quite good fun to go for, so I was irked by the system being disabled.

Just started far harbor. The speech isn't right. There lips move fast and talk over each other so is hard to follow what is going on! Anyone else have this problem?

I've not noticed that specifically, but the audio in general is not right. I took Nick Valentine(everyone should btw, he is integral to the story!) and The lines added by Far Harbour sound completely different to the ones from the base game...Almost to the point where they sound like someone doing an impression of the voice actor. Most of the voices in FH seem poorly recorded to me. I'm using a mod that improves the gunners, and there are lines added by that that sound better than in FH tbh.

Really enjoying far harbour. A very decent expansion.

Same here. The atmosphere is incredible. Went out exploring at night and it was really tense, especially with True Storms enabled. Reminds me of Alan Wake a lot.

All of the factions are easily better than the ones from the main game too... The synth faction is basically what the Railroad should have been.

I couldnt get anybody to be a provisioner to longfellows cabin in far harbour..the poor old geezer is still stuck there by himself

even built a robot with mr handy thruster to be a provisioner in case it was the water (though this doesnt seem to stop my provisioner getting to spectacle island in the commonwealth)

My god... The memory sequence is excruciating! The actual mini game is not the worst I have ever played, but it is out of place and drags on for too long.

If you're referring to the part in the main plot you can actually run through the intermediate sections until you reach the final act with Kellogg and the boy in the shack. There's no need to watch and listen to each sequence or click on the players to hear Kellogg's thoughts (unless you want to, of course).

^No, this is a part of the dlc. I had read about it beforehand, this part of the dlc that everybody hated, but I didn't think it would be that annoying!

Think The Geth memories part of Mass Effect 3 and times it by 10!

Ok I picked this up in the recent sales and... I'm having a few issues with a 21:9 display. It simply won't pick up the resolution in the launcher. So I edited the .ini file to set the resolution to 3440x1440. Well that would be fine except... it crashes the game in fullscreen mode. So ok, I put it into maximised borderless windowed mode which at least lets the game launch at the right resolution, except the framerates are pathetic. I mean 30-35fps, sometimes as low as 25. So, following some advice on another forum I turned off Vsync and the framerates shot up to 55-75fps and hundreds in menus. Only now I have to use another tool, DXtory, to cap the framerate to 60. (Crimson's FRTS only works in Fullscreen mode apparently)

Am I missing something here? Because this seems an awful lot of hoops to jump through just to get a modern title working. Heck even Black Mesa works at the native resolution without any issues!

edit: fixed it finally by following a guide on Steam. Fullscreen finally! Stupid bethesda.

Anyone else noticed buggy God-Rays making trees jitter around? It looks ******* terrifying. I'm guessing maybe it's a driver issue.

To go back to this, I have not had any problems with provisioners. I just set up one one guy from longfellows to finch farm with no issue.

New Steam Patch 1.7.12 increases FPS a lot @ 4K  Gameworld is now ultra smooth. Bethesda look to have found whatever was causing the lag before :D
