Xbox. PC is not the same game, it's basically a redressed Fifa 10.
There should be 2 different 1v1 ranked game modes available.
One where only the default formations and tactics can be used where people want to have fun and play the beautiful game.
The other for all the lamers using game exploiting unstoppable tactics such as 5-1-4 formations and 5-5 it's not skill it's merely abusing the way the computer sends the defence out or simply having more attackers ready for unstoppable through balls.
These kind of people are like this whatever online game they play they find and stick to the most overpowered and cheesy ways to get frags or whatever that may be and stick to it no matter what and I truly despise these folk they take away the fun of online gaming.
All I can say is thank god for being able to quit within 5 mins.
First thing I do now is pause before 5 mins if I see some dumb formation such as mentioned above I quit out.
These people deserve it really they find a way to abuse game mechanics and do the same thing over and over and over every single game as they know it's undefendable.
It's never going to happen of course so I shall be sticking to simply refusing to play against these exploiters and quit out if I see a dumb 5-5 or 5-1-4 formation.
Is it too much to ask to separate this ? I don't think so.

They aren't better players they are little sad men that spend hours working out a rubber band game exploiting formation and do the same moves over and over like a robot.
It's like saying a guy that gets 2 kills to 0 deaths a round on bad company 2 by staying way way back sniping is better than a guy getting 10kill and 10 deaths a round by getting stuck in.
Really ? because I think you'll find the so called best players are merely the game mechanic exploiting sados using that cheesy 5-1-4 or 5-5 formation.
Whats the problem then ? why not have one for custom cheese and one for the beautiful game ? oh yea I know why because they live for their stats.

If I lose, I try other things to improve.. that's the fun of it... I soak pressure and counter attack, its worked for Jose Mo, and sometimes (not as much as I would like) it works for me!!!

its not hard to soak pressure with 5 defenders,
when me and my cousins play 1v1, we all have open games unless we are playing against my youngest cousin who uses 5-3-2.
no matter how much you control the possession the only way to score against him is from corner's, free kicks or crosses.
through ball's, passing, long range shooting doesn't work. it is impossible to score against a decent player with 5 defender's.
if i come up against a good player who is giving me a tough game, if i go 1 up i will switch from my open formation (41212) to my defensive formation (5-3-2). this usually results in the other guy quitting and/or sending abusive messages.
using custom formations shouldnt be allowed, it kills the game. but so long as other's use it so will i.
for those that disagree, try playing against a mate and set them to have 5 defenders (with 1 in the middle as sweeper just behind the back 4).
i'll play anybody when i get fifa 11, but if i see someone using gay tactics, ill use them back.
No idea what you are on about loads of people use that lame 5-1-4 formation I am talking about the people who play with no midfield or just have 1 right in the middle no idea how many midfielders you use but as by your post can now see you are one of these folk.ROFLMFAO

It comes from a guy that humiliated me last night in world cup mode I checked to see his formation and it was more or less 5-5.
he kept doing a high through ball over and over and over and 2/3 the time i could stop it but eventually he got his goals and it was all from simply doing the same exact pass attempt from the same spot on the pitch over and over and yes he had that sweeper behind a front 4 as mentioned above so i found it very hard to score against him just too many bodies in the way.
Anyway nice to see you admit that you are one of these players sucking the fun out of online fifa.

People moaning about formations are baddies because they dont change formation. Simple.
Moaning about it is like turning up to a motor race in a slower car than everyone else, you just wouldn't do it.
you cant counter it you can only join em if you cant beat em and set the same cheesey formation.
and why cant I just have a mode where customs aren't allowed so like minded people can play together don't see why the objections for customs being separated ? a good player is a good player if they cant win without using 5 strikers and 5 defenders and no midfield I don't consider them good players.
