*** Official FIFA 11 Thread ***

Getting into this UT thing now. I actually don't feel too bad losing because I know my team needs work. Right now I have fat retired Ronaldo on my team and he is still a beast but slow as hell and gets injured after two games. :/

How do you guys raise funds? I only get like 600 coins for winning a game and the top players cost over 50k coins. :/
 
Some scum tried to scam me yesterday.

I'd played a few games online last night, a 3-0 loss sandwiched in between 2 draws. The last guy ended the game as a draw (which is sooooo annoying when people do that, but that's another story :p ), probably as I had the upper hand.

Anyway, 2 mins later I get a message from EA_SW with the title "Congratulations" and then a lovely message saying something like:

"You have been selected as this weeks totw winner. You've won all of this week's totw players, 500k coins and 10 free gold premium packs. All you need to do is give us your username and password and we'll transfer everything over to your account"

LOL

Do people really fall for this stuff?
 
hey all

been reading all these, and i have a question, how do you all get these IF players? i have about 45k coins and really struggling to get better players... done so much wheeling and dealing im at the point where the players i have now wont make me any profit.

would love to hear some advice, also play some of you guys,

TBQH not really :p. It is only a game ;). Now if it was FIFA 12 UT - then Id be more interested! Unfortunately FIFA hype just makes the engine look even worse when its released...

Indeed. For all of EA's talk about how the FIFA 11 Manager Mode would be a total revamp they have failed on their promises, it's shocking, if anything it's even worse than last years tacked on single player. Then you have the option of Club which is fun but has too many infuriating bugs, or the standard Pro Ranked matches which are often full of rage quitters, or people using Real Madrid, Barcelona or Chelsea. Where's the fun in that?

The most fun I've gotten from FIFA is Ultimate Team, and it just so happens that UT is a massive money spinner for EA so you can see why they'd spend so much time and effort improving it. Even more changes to FIFA 12 UT and I could see myself spending a ridiculous amount of hours playing it. Simple things like training mode with your UT club, the ability to assign squad numbers and kick takers would be nice as well, and some more search filters for the position cards and manager cards would be welcome.

But as it stands I have no interest in the standard modes of FIFA 12.

Some people here have worked hard at trading, I know that One More Solo and possibly ps3ud0 haven't spent any real money on packs. Others have combined both market trading and buying packs with real money to get their teams. I don't think you'll find anyone here who built their team up from only playing matches and nothing else, it would simply take forever.

I've retired from FIFA 11 now and from March - June my final stats are:

Played 786
Won 571
Drawn 2
Lost 213
65 Trophies

Match Coins earned is 534,238 which means even if I hadn't spent a penny from beginning to end I still wouldn't have had enough for even some of the individual players that guys have on here. You have to be good at the trading market, or willing to put your own money in otherwise you won't get anywhere. Which is why at the end of UT I had a team probably worth about 30K. I was crap at trading. :p

i have done most of mine by trading, and play offline games, dont think im good enough for online although reading all of this i am tempted,

on a different note you didnt play sof2 did you?
 
I played about 10 offline tournaments before ever venturing online. It is a lot more fun and it's what I mainly play now, just single online match. Tried an online tournament and I got raped.
 
Ive spent the grand sum of £10 if that - when PSN was down the actual webapp doesnt let you use real money and that was when I spent most of my time building up my team. I only spent real money when the enticement of TOTY players came around - before then I just wasnt interested in IFs one bit...

In less than a week Ive doubled my 100k so its possible (though Im only sitting on 110k with a load of stuff in trade, so its still virtual 200k) - its not that much skill, just takes time - for me I need to have some end result from the effort, I just cant make money for the sake of it, but when I want a player then it gives me that incentive. Just never buy a 100k player when you only have 100k, keep some capital as this market definitely works on the old saying 'the rich get richer' - personally Id say its easier to double up money when you have a large bank roll, both because you can buy the more expensive players but you are more comfortable in speculating and trying more risky buys (the last few days Ive bought nearly all the types of one player to attempt to fix his price)...

I still play quite a few offline tournaments - dno why, I like tinkering with my team and Im crap online :(...

Ok i think i get where your coming from, i have a load of players that i brought for quite cheap however psn then went down and now these players prices have seemed to have dropped, so if i sell them im going to make a loss.....

and im along way off needing 1 player to make my team "better"
 
How do I manage my team online? I am logging into FUT but it says I have to download it onto my ps3 first, which I have. :confused:

I even tried adding my psn account but it says its taken. :confused:
