Oh, and you can probably play Abidal at left back if you buy Mexes and Biabiany and just play Biabiany at LM instead of RM. They're both quite cheap.

Tim, Nationality doesn't make a difference with managers. As long as they have the correct formation they can be from whatever country you want. :p

Does anyone else lose connection to the EA servers fairly often? It happens once every two or three matches to me, and is a real pain as it means my DNF% increases. My internet's stable on everything else, and I only disconnect from the EA servers. My PSN connection remains up...any ideas?

I thought it did, that you got an extra chemistry point for every player that matched the nationality of the manager? Why there was quite a few requests on EA forums to add shiny gold Argie/Brazil managers...

Robert1986 - you may want to settle on a formation you like first before spending too much on a matched formation manager. Personally Id avoid 41212, it the most popular form and therefore attracts higher valuations for players - might be better to stretch your money on a lesser formation (that you like playing with) until you can afford 41212, especially considering the PS3 market is considerably artifically higher than the 360 one for most players.

To give you an idea on PS3 the formation cards for 41212 cost around 15k, I use 4222 which I guess is favoured by a few but those cards only cost 6k in comparison...

I use 4-4-2 which sadly costs a bomb, but..

Robert, maybe go with 4-3-1-2 and make a custom formation whereby the CM falls back and the 2 outside CM's (You can play RM/LM's here on a dark green boot) split out a tad wider, on the 360, 4-1-2-1-2 cards are about 13-15k, 4-3-1-2 cards are 1500-2500, all you do at the start of each match, or when you first get the ball: pause, formation > apply the custom one you made > enjoy 4-1-2-1-2 for budget users :)
 
I can't think of a situation where having your team in formation and having the manager matching that formation wouldn't give you 100 chemistry anyway. Unless all your players were out of position or something. However I stand corrected. :)
 
Keeping a hybrid at 100 chem isnt that easy - I know with my Brargie team its quite easy to drop from 100 chem by making very minor changes (lost 100 when I added TOTY Hernanes as he was a CM and not a CDM like the UP was for example) - thats the main issue not having a Brazil/Argentian manager :(

Well, he had 87 Chemistry in the link I believe add o the 10 from manager formation if no players are of matching nationality...

Hopefully the chemistry is changed for Fifa 12 UT. It should be a progressive thing, so over a good amount of games the players start 'gelling' and building chemistry.
Instead of the thing now where you just get a team full of one league players or nationality. Just because there the same nationality it does not mean that they should play better with each other. Look at England Senior team :/

I fully agree. Even if it's a card for +1 chem or something daft. I've wanted to make a side that felt properly 'Ultimate Team' in a true dream team fashion World XI jobby.

I think I might try it anyway, at least 3 or 4 leagues - will probably end up all Brazil :p

I dno, if that happens it would have a dramatic effect on the market economics, who would try new players if it would take x amount of games for them to gel, especially if that 'gelling' is not an exact science - theres enough possibilities for placebo as there are. Id rather have the existing idea extended so it takes other variables into consideration (like spoken language)...

You could argue that other areas of the players stats should improve/reduce dependent on performance within the team - it all gets a bit messy then...

Thinking that FIFA is anything like real football is a scary comparison :p, with UT the trading market is far far more important than the actual game of football itself...

One thing I hope for in UT 12 is a position card change, of course have it where a CM can only go CDM, CAM, CF and ST, but have a card per posiotion, so you could have Lavezzi, a CF by nature, and buy a CM card (Not CF <> CAM <> CM) which then allows you to change him between CF & CM at will, but if you sell him, that card retains the ability to play CF/CM wherever he is sold to, and if you buy another base CF lavezzi, you need to buy his cards all over again, instead of transitional cards.

Same could be argued for formations?

On another note, been playing SIF Pazzini up with TOTY Eto'o and LOVING him, not the best striker out there compares to some but his 99 positioning rating means he is ALWAYS where you want him, excellent player and the team seems to gel very well.

Just trying out a few custom ideas, but if anyone wants a game, just yell!

Updated squad. Don't have enough money for a LB and a proper bench. Its amazing how much better a team plays with a high chem and good formation. Won my first game with this team 3-1 against a 100 chem EPL team that had Rooney and RVP in it.

Got Hamsik for 2500 coins by doing the 59 min thing. He is amazing.

Rob, when you have a few coins i'd sell Abidal, put Riise to LB and buy Vargas for LM. You can probably get him for 2k ish, he's pretty quick with a decent shot on him and I think 4* skills. He's also got 80 DEF so good at breaking up attacks.

I'd also replace Isla at CDM with Cambiasso. 84 rated and under 2k I think now, great player for the cash. Krasic (UP 84 rated) is great at RM too - there's one BIN for 3.5k with about 45 mins left.

This is obviously when you have a few coins to splash out. If you want good strikers you'll probably have to save up a fair bit as even Cavani is about 9-10k, Milito is 12-13k and then you've got the Eto'o's and Ibras which are around 18-21k ish. For your budget there'd be Gilardinho, Hernandéz etc.
