From the new footage on gametrailers it seems identical to the world cup game to me which is not a bad thing.

erm it does happen it's a cast iron fact, what they are talking about is the cpu running defenders out just as a through ball is played
and it can be exploited when you know what you are doing.

The point is that are ways to score in which the defending player can do nothing about what so ever to stop it thus the term exploit.

Bet you any money the top players all use a 6-4 or 7-3 formation and just try the same exploits over and over and over
that's what online gaming is really when you get to a certain level all you encounter is people who only care about winning.

you'd soon see them change their style if there were no personal win loss stats and only positions in leagues etc maybe they'd try a non game spoiling formation

Having no win/loss stats and only having rank numbers (or making it totally private) would make the game so much better for all really and that goes across the board for many many games imo.

It's so hard to beat a 7 or 8 man defence most games end 0-0

There are ways to get around it and it doesn't have to be have 7 at the back.

It used to happen to me all the time when I played with the formations that are standard... then I started to play with some of the settings, their positioning and the attack / defensive mindset thingymajig.. by trial and error I found ways around the defense steaming out when a through ball is played.... but I have to say, its also how you play the game... you have to keep an constant eye on runners and know who the danger men are.
As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, the most enjoyable part of this game is having a good defense locked down... yeah, now and again I get beaten by 3 or 4 goals.. but that can be down to 3 things.

1. He is better than me
2. I'm having a shocker and missing my opportunities.. (we all have those games)
3. Everything he hits is going in..(we have those games too)

So its swings and roundabouts... but I still standby the fact that a better player, is still a better player... and is not beating you because the computer gives him an advantage.

What makes you a better player... simply, consistency. If you can play 10 games and win 8, then surely morale is not having that much of an effect that some say. I certainly would become pretty bored if I played 10 won 10.. what would be the point of playing. The best games are close 4-3's and comebacks.. and thats includes my opponents coming back against me.. they are some of the best heart racing games you can have....:cool:

Anyway C64.. I gave my FIFA 10 disc to my mate at work because he damaged his disc.. (he plays a lot).. but..

If you have WC 2010, maybe we can get a game over the next few days. Im on holiday at the moment so will be playin quite a bit.

Please add me, "ScottFreeStyle" , you'll probably make me eat my words :D..

Oh and anyone else for that matter.. please add me...

^ Some very nice animations and neat new touches there, looks like they have done a really good job, again.

There is quite a bit of difference in gameplay. I particularly like the long range passes.

Personality + is also quite evident, the tight turning cirle of Ronaldo etc...

game looks a tad too quick, but thats not too much of a bother... Just wish they showed a game of 2 people who could actually play.. to say these guys are naff is an understatement!!!
 
Yeah I noticed that - as soon as you pass you cant move til its been recieved :/. Also there werent many high balls did anyone notice directional chest traps?

Love how the biggest touted feature of FIFA 10 (skilled dribbling) is so rarely used in gameplay vids. Playing Advantage seems to be improved...

Not that impressed but hard to tell til Ive played the demo - they must have been on higher speed though...

At least they have improved the tackling/collisions there seemed to be a good few challenges there that it ignored and let the play go on, whereas in 10 you would end up with about 40 fouls from tapping them on the shoulder.

Looks a little better than 10, will wait for the demo!

Most likely because it was in most versions, removed in 09, and then put back in as a new feature.....
 
How do you Do the custom formations with 3 dms in 10 world cup? Would be better for the achis with 1/2/3 star teams. Although I did take the lead against brazil with kazakstan only to let in two at 85 mins :(
 
I am not sure about past fifa games having this feature but i'd like to see a system whereby you can say choose a prem side and play the entire season through online each game against a human opponent but never the same teams ie a proper league.

erm in team edit set formation to 7-3 100 aggression etc it's nigh on impossible to score against

That feature was in 9 and 10, can't remember the name I'll have a look when I cba.
 
Looks good, see a few better bits. The few tweaks to the HUD are welcomed, stats/subs showing up, and goal scorers in the final score.
